Got Thirteen Ghosts in today. Gotta say, I like the art on the slip a lot more in person than photos I'd seen previously.

I’m not a prude, but am I the only one who finds the couple watching porn at the beginning just a little out of place? I get that with the Anna Paquin story, it’s a more sexualized horror anthology... it just starts off on a weird note, IMO.

IMO Creepshow is the king of the horror anthology movies. But I love many of the others as well.

A couple watching porn is weird?

The Italian version of Black Sabbath (1963) is a better horror anthology that any of the mentioned.

Love horror anthologies! These are the ones I own and have seen in some form or another.

After Midnight (1989)
Body Bags (1993)
Cat's Eye (1985)
Creepshow (1982)
Creepshow 2 (1987)
Deadtime Stories (1986)
From a Whisper to a Scream (1987)
The House of the Dead (aka Alien Zone) (1978)
The Monster Club (1981)
Nightmares (1983)
Screams of a Winter Night (1979)
Tales from the Crypt (1972)
Talse from the Darkside: The Movie (1990)
Tales from the Hood (1995)
Trilogy of Terror (1975)
Trilogy of Terror 2 (1996)
Trick 'r Treat (2007)
Twilight Zone: The Movie ( 1983)

I'm aware of the V/H/S series, Tales of Halloween, and Nightmare Cinema but haven't seen any of those yet.

Any glaring omissions? Something I missed that needs to be seen? Maybe a separate thread covering horror anthologies would be a good idea.

One I recently learned about and enjoyed is From Beyond the Grave (WAC) and The House That Dripped Blood (ordered from Scream Factory recently).

Dr. Terror's House Of Horrors
Black Sabbath (Italian or American version)
Torture Garden
The House That Dripped Blood

IMO, the greatest horror anthology film is Dead of Night (1945)

Oh yeah, I just received The Vault of Horror/Tales From the Crypt Double Feature from Scream Factory today. I think I'll watch it tonight... I'm starting to really love anthologies, and these SF double features are so freaking cool.

I get what you're saying and I agree. It's the one part in the movie where my wife and I felt uncomfortable watching with our 12 year old. Yeah, horror is one thing, but porn is another thing altogether. It's not like it's just a titty shot either.

It's still a good movie, sure, but Creepshow is definitely better, IMO.

Hell yeah, ordered Tales from the Darkside and My Bloody Valentine.
Haven't seen the former, and it's been like a decade since I've seen the latter.

Also I wish that Scream/Shout would do more cheesey 80s/90s action movies.
The work of Mark Goldblatt should get the SF treatment. Both Dead Heatand the 1989 The Punisher need releases. (I know Dead Heat does, but I'm saying something with better treatment)

I own this, and it's a great release and has reversible artwork without those damn rating logos.

That being said, I would still buy a US release just for the OCD inside me.
