i got my items from the sale yesterday, but for some reason, I had to reglue all the flaps on the It's Alive trilogy set since the whole thing essentially collapsed on itself after I took off the plastic wrap

No email confirmation. The website just said that replacements should begin shipping on November 23rd.

Disappointing news from Facebook:

Given they were due to announce February's slate in the next couple of weeks, do we now presume that this will be another meagre line-up? Because if not I can't see why they wouldn't just have revealed something from it today.

Wow. They could easily announce a title or two for Halloween. No comic con, now this. Kinda sucks and a bit strange. I don't care if it's a title coming out in October 2021, it would be nice to give us something to look forward to.

i don't mind taking a break from some new releases if it means we don't get too many more video conference interviews & telephone commentaries for features

kudos for what they've been able to manage this year, but the struggle is very apparent and it's not translating to a top-dollar product

Anybody get slips on any of the Hammer CEs from the old Universal set? So Werewolf, Evil of a Frankenstein, Kiss of the Vampire, and Phantom?

I’m feeling swayed to getting these—-I like the work they’ve been doing on the Hammers and the extras seem extensive.

EDIT: Eh, screw it. Bought all five.

Besides Event Horizon, eager to know of their other 2021 titles. Hopefully, Captain Clegg (Nightmare Creatures), more Universal Horror volumes, ANOES, I mean at least!

Special Features aren't everything. They shouldn't stop new releases just because of it.

Hell, i usually just watch them once and forget about them. What i care about is the movie. Special Features are just extra (literally).

The only exceptions i have is with bigger box sets like F13, NOES...etc.

well good for YOU, bud, but most people would probably argue that the REASON these tend to be more of a premium item is BECAUSE of the additional work that goes into them.

seriously, what kind of grown up still goes around thinking "i don't why you all care if i don't care"

I will say, one of the real sways on double dipping on these Hammer sets have been the extensive extras they've been including on them. I like when a disc is almost like a mini-lesson in the creation of the film itself, and bonus points if it discusses a style, a film maker, a period of time, a genre etc. etc. in full.

Same could be said for your previous comment about being okay with them not releasing anything because of the lack of special features so.....

This may be true for some people, but for me personally, the special features is how I justify paying there boutique prices, it's part of the experience after watching one of their films for me to go and then learn more about it aftewards. I just can't see myself dropping $25/28 for a barebones "Collector's Edition". They've also mentioned on several podcasts that its causing delays and issues with doing fresh scans and audio.

I have to agree with this, you could tell there were some technical difficulties with the F13, but even in the commentaries they mention most of them were recorded in April, giving them time to fix a lot of the issues, but there still were times when people were inaudible.

"Ghost Ship" is a great example of them trying, but just failing. The Skype/Zoom Quality in those interviews is almost akin to watching a YouTube video on Dial up. I'm glad they tried to do what they could, but I am honestly very happy to wait even 6-12 months for them to be able to start producing releases like they were this time last year.

I think they really will hurt their brand, if they continue to release such subpar releases like most of the current ones, at least if they want to stick to retail prices around 25-30$. If they are not able to produce professional Bonus Material during the current circumstances, I hope they don’t release any collectors editions anymore and just release regular barebones releases for 15-18$. I bought almost every Collectors Édition so far, but I would‘ve much preferred they‘d delay Ghost Ship, until they would have been able again to produce it professional.

thing is, you're not really losing anything due to a delay; it's just a delay - better than rushing out an inferior product. if they start producing & releasing $10 barebones discs, fine, but i don't see that being an option. so as long as the MSRP is consistent, i'd prefer the quality remain so

patience being a virtue & all

Your comment didn't mention anything about delays. You just said you would be okay with no new releases for a while until they can start doing proper special features again.

I completely agree, and yes these Scream versions are absolutely worth the double dip!

It drives me nuts when certain members here criticize people who love extensive extra features. I love learning about the entire process behind a film, I don't understand what's so hard to comprehend about that!

Sure, the quality of the video and audio come first, but love me some quality extras.

I respect but don't understand their choice to avoid extras, and they can reciprocate.

I love the special features, but if I it comes down to webex/zoom special feature interviews versus no new releases, I'll take the webex/zoom interviews.

Special features are great, but at the end of the day I'm here for the films. I'd even take no special features if it gets me a film that hasn't been released on Blu-ray.

Either way, disappointing move from Scream with no Halloween titles to reveal. I don't give a crap if it's title coming out in 2022, at least let us know it's coming. Something just feels weird about this, and hopefully they aren't hurting that bad as the prices on their last sale were pretty low for Scream Factory titles. I love Scream, but throw us a bone here.

Hell, we all know the Dead Zone is coming as it's the worst kept secret since the Friday the 13th set, so you could at least announce that.
