So are they going to announce titles for June ? Even with this distribution reset thing that shout is apparently going to be down for March and april?

If they knew that prior to announcing May's slate (it probably explains in large part why April is so barren), I don't see why it would impact the June schedule. I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks.

I would like to see I Know What You Did Last Summer trilogy and Urban Legend 3 from SF. I want Nightmare on Elm Street set from them as well but I have a feeling we will be waiting quite a while for that. Oh and a Scream quadrilogy set would be awesome as well.

Yeah, my newest order did, and arrived today, but no word on the stuff from over a week ago. Wasn't sure if they had different distribution centers or not.

My sale order was placed on the first day of the sale and only just shipped out yesterday. It's supposed to be here Tuesday. I believe Cherry Falls was the reason my order was slow to ship out but that's just speculation on my part. I ordered...
1 [Blu-ray] Body Parts
1 [Blu-ray] Cherry Falls
1 [Blu-ray] The Hills Run Red
1 [Blu-ray/DVD] Jack's Back
1 [Blu-ray] Psycho

Both my Corman order and my sale order shipped from Kentucky as they always do. Did you order anything from any other distributors?

I'm pretty sure all of Shout! Factory's direct sale order fulfillment is processed through Clark and Riggs and shipped from Louisville, KY.

Only other stuff I have on order are VinSyn, which ships form CT. Do have a Diabolik order for the Arrow AWIL with slip, but only one order from them. Not sure what the heck is coming form St. Louis.

And I did order Cherry Falls as well. But have two pending orders from SF, which is why the two orders from St. Louis I thought could have been them.

For comparison, my sale order shipped on the 16th and contained:
[Blu-ray] Cherry Falls
[Blu-ray] Final Exam
[Blu-ray/DVD] The Final Terror
[Blu-ray] Psycho
[Blu-ray] Psycho II [Collector's Edition]
[Blu-ray/DVD] The Town That Dreaded Sundown

Limited Corman titles shipped the day after on the 17th...

Katie McGovern, an aspiring actress played by Mary Steenburgen, shows up for an audition in New York City, where she impresses the casting director, played by Roddy McDowall. She is subsequently driven through snowy landscapes to a remote upstate mansion for a screen test in front of a producer, played by Jan Rubes, who promises her the role of a lifetime. Instead of fame and fortune as a leading lady, however, our ambitious heroine encounters deceptions, blackmail, dismemberment, and grisly murder.

The 1987 thriller, Dead of Winter, directed by Arthur Penn (Bonnie and Clyde) as a loose remake of the 1945 film noir, My Name Is Julia Ross, is one of those screen stories that nitpicking viewers can deconstruct with smug glee as they spot one implausible plot element after another. For those of us who actually enjoy fictional cinema, however, the proceedings are so fun and engaging that we happily go along for the ride without poking the narrative house of cards. I, for one, have a blast every step of the way.

Steenburgen, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Melvin and Howard in 1980 and subsequently graced the screen in Back to the Future Part III, is a powerhouse presence, as always. I cannot reveal too much about the plot of this particular film without spoiling its charms, but I will say that Steenburgen is seen in three separate roles here, all of which demand distinctly different mannerisms. McDowall, whom all of you know from Planet of the Apes and Fright Night, is perfect here as the charmer who may have a hidden agenda. Rubes, who enjoyed supporting parts in Witness and in The X-Files television series, delivers a pleasing aura of grandfatherly reassurance. William Russ, whom I will always associate with his title role in the Miami Vice episode, "Evan", portrays our lead character's boyfriend.

A full service gas station figures heavily into the story, because the owners give away free goldfish for every $10 purchase of fuel. The attendant pumps gas into your vehicle, takes your money, and then returns with to hand you a plastic bag full of water and goldfish. Dead of Winter is a riveting rollercoaster ride full of strange and unsettling things, but, somehow, the idea of a gas station giving away free goldfish takes the cake.

This Scream Factory Blu-ray delivers a pleasantly filmic technical presentation for cold weather viewing, as well as a knockout interview with Steenburgen.

It happened like this...

I finished a seven-mile run in sub-20 degrees yesterday morning and was underdressed for the wind chill. My gloves were insufficient, so my right hand froze up and then thawed, over an excruciating few minutes, while I was taking a shower.

I then looked through my sprawling Blu-ray collection, trying to decide which still-unwatched title to view for the day.

I spotted Dead of Winter, and knew that we had a winner.

Mistakes happen from time to time. Probably a result of someone miss-sorting things. I've had packages arrive a town over only to then have them travel all the way back across the US as a result of a sorting error. Seems odd for it to head out of the Continental US but it's certainly possible from what I've seen.

It's a good thing the island is part of the US. The Postal system in the Caribbean is generally lousy from what I'm told.

OK, so I'm assuming since we got Twice Dead and Terror Within released, that means the Corman catalog is now free and clear. I hope they do Battletruck next. Wouldn't mind a Streets/Angel In Red reissue on BD.

Going through it frame by frame to see what was wrong it appears that some frames are repeated, which casues the effects. Same problem as the Xtro BD, although it's nowhere near as bad on this. For example there's one near the start of CHapter 2 when Prospero gets out of his carriage and just starts to walk to the left.

Checking the theatrical version, the problems weren't present in that.

I am not sure how this disc has been made, if the each film version has been put on individually, or if it's a seemless branching thing. If it's branching, then I guess it could be down to the it, but all of them happen mad way through shots, not at the beginning/end, which is what I'd expect from a branching issue if the players switching between options. I wonder if the SHout release has the same problems.
Thoughts, anyone?
