Eyes of a Stranger was a great blind buy. Really cool story, with early Savini gore. Great extras from Red Shirt too.

I know there was a B&N sale and Amazon. Is there still going to be a July sale on the Scream site?

Most likely. They do a “Summer of Fear” sale every June or July.

It's not a Shout Factory release but I got The Hot Spot from B&N recently and it came with the slipcover. Like some of the Shout releases that slipcover is not sealed with the case.

I also like to see Scream Factory release Hellbent (2004). It's a cool LGBT slasher movie that needs more love in my opinion.

I got in my copy of Universal Horror Vol. 3. Looks like a very nice release, but can anyone else agree that the cases used are TERRIBLE? The disc hubs are so shallow, I had THREE floaters (only Tower of London was scratched; luckily it was a very light scratch and the disc didn’t skip when I fast-forwarded through the entire film at 4x), and the discs are coming loose even after I place them back.

As an aside, does anyone know why Tower of London is considered a horror film? It looks more like a medieval drama. Is it because Boris Karloff and Vincent Price are in it?

The first volume has a gangster movie with Karloff and Lugosi, so the classification is loose by nature. I just regard it as a bonus flick in an otherwise prime set with Black Cat, Raven and Invisible Ray.

I ended up ordering quite a few movies from Amazon's recent sale, and if more titles continue to drop, I may pick up a few others. But so far, I've picked up the following:

Willard (1971)
Ben
Fear No Evil
The Masque of the Red Death
When a Stranger Calls Back
Scream for Help
8MM
Strays
Jack's Back

So far, only Scream for Help has arrived, and I watched it last night. The first half felt like an R-rated lifetime movie, but the second half changed its tone completely and it became quite suspenseful. I went in knowing very little about it but ended up enjoying it quite a bit.

With the exception of The Masque of the Red Death and When a Stranger Calls Back, all of the other titles are blind buys. Even though I already have The Masque of the Red Death in the original Vince Price collection, and I already have When a Stranger Calls Back from the Second Sight Blu-ray of the original film, I decided to also pick these two up because of the new 4K transfer of Masque and the new 16x9 cut of Stranger.

No idea, but you can get the Mill Creek blu-ray for under $10.00 so thats' not too bad if another edition comes around eventually.

Powerhouse Films (Indicator) in the UK released a really nice edition that is Region Free. I'd encourage you to purchase that edition. the LE is long since sold out so you won't be getting the 24 page booklet, but the disc content I believe is otherwise the same.

Is that release better than the Mill Creek release?

If so I might have to upgrade.

Transfer is about the same, but the Mill Creek version looked damn good anyways. The only real extra is a commentary track from some UK podcasters which is fairly enjoyable, plus the booklet (which I thankfully have). If you're a fan, you could probably find it for under $20 on eBay, as I did.

They had the LE, along with some other LE titles on their site not too long ago. They were listed under OOP returns. I was able to pick up a few OOP titles.

One title that Scream disappointedly let go out of print was 'Vampire's Kiss' with Nic Cage. Impossible to find anywhere for a reasonable price.

Absolutely, I have the same problem and not just with Vol.3 either. They are total crap....

Normally I'd agree with you, but their Happy Birthday to Me is a pretty solid disc.
