We're not entirely sure yet. It's just speculation until we get an official confirmation.
But you know what else would beneficial if there is one; an Ilsa box set. ![]() |

I knew Halloween II & III would get a true 4K UHD which is why I held off on those steelbooks, but definitelt surprised to see Halloween and Halloween 4-5. Halloween 4-5 are definitely in need of a new transfer because every sequel past part 3 is rocking DVD era HD transfers. Alone in the Dark is the crown jewel of releases in this batch though for me.

When are the announcements speculated to come?
It seems like the July announcements came on a Monday around 1:30-2:00 PM EST. Is it possible Tuesday considering the US holiday Sunday puts a delay on Mondays? |

Lionsgate has the distribution rights for the first, fourth and fifth films, though they’re still outright owned by Trancas. Most of us assumed Scream wouldn’t be able to do anything because of Lionsgate being the distributor, but it’s possible they just went through Trancas directly.

Halloween 2-5 are really the only other ones I wanted to upgrade to 4K. Man, that beautiful box set... maybe it won't be completely replaced. It is nice to finally be getting proper Shout editions of Halloween 4 (and hopefully 5).
Really excited for Elvira's Haunted Hills and Alone in the Dark. It's gonna be a great month and it's not even for October. |

Wow, if that’s it for September, looks like I’m all in.
I’m sure Scream will have a Limited Edition offer to buy all the Halloween UHDs that’ll save a few bucks, but no formal box set. I really hope Deadly Friend happens! |

I don't usually knock movies on the forums, but as a heads-up: You might want to try to watch Alone in the Dark before blind buying it. Between the awesome poster, the promising premise, and all the people on here constantly begging for a blu, I thought I would love it. Then I finally watched it and was very disappointed. I thought it was really bad and (worse) boring. I'm happy it's coming to blu for the people hankering for it, but as for blind buys I would recommend trying to find it first!

Definitely pumped for Halloween III, and will probably get II as well. I can't see getting the first one as I already have it in 4k and am totally in love with the Best Buy steel so unless the pq is somehow better I'll pass.
What are the chances Night of the Comet gets the 4K treatment or at the very least a pq and steel upgrade? |

Skipped the earlier HALLOWEEN (1978) 4K UHD from Lionsgate, because all it had was the horrible remixed 5.1 audio with new music/efx added.
One thing that is practically a given is that Scream will deliver an edition that INCLUDES the original intact mono, as they once forced to have included in their earlier boxsets. The mono track is essential. Yes, I'm a purist, but I would have even accepted a 5.1 mash of the original mono, as long as they didn't change and add things, making it an entirely different score. Not when it comes to John Carpenter music and movies. So glad I skipped the Lionsgate 4K, not so much that I would never have watched it that way with the crap 5.1 remix, but just so they didn't get any of my money, and it held the doors open even moreso now for Scream to reacquire it and do IT RIGHT! |

I missed out on the set so this is good news for me. If it ends up being just 1-5 that's still better than nothing. The ones after that are honestly the ones I watch the lease anyway, except maybe 6... I'd get them all, but I'd be happy with 1-5 if that's all we get.

It will most likely be DP Dean Cundey's approximately 50th approved editions, now he goes with vibrant reds and oranges in all the nighttime scenes, doorways, etc. DP approved!!!! He now remembers it was a very fiery evening the movie was supposed to take place during. |
