These announcements are insane, if they are correct then this will be the first time I’ll be tempted to buy every single one. Although, I really don’t want to pony up the cash for each Halloween 4K UHD as an individual, stand-alone release, especially since I already own their original “deluxe” complete collection set. There had better be a box set or at least a bundle discount option…

I hope those of us who are planning to buy the Halloween UHDs greatly outnumber those who will pass on them. I want the Halloween UHDs to sell very well because there are other horror titles I want SF to re-release on UHD, the Psycho sequels for example.

While I think Scream are now committed to UHD upgrades, I expect they'll be selective, so I'm not sure it's the case that the more UHDs they sell in general, the more they'll do in general. For example, the Halloween franchise is far bigger and more popular than the Psycho franchise, so they know these are safe bets. Remember it took them a long time to even consider picking up Psycho IV, so evidently they're not entirely convinced of the popularity of the Psycho franchise. Obviously it will depend on sales data, but I could see Psycho II getting the UHD treatment. 3 seems less likely, and I'd say there's virtually no chance of 4.

They really are, I'm floored. It would be my first time ever buying an entire month's lineup I think.

Even though the announcements have leaked, Scream Factory did just comment on Facebook that they are making their announcements next week. So there won't be any preorders going up today.

Yep, can't wait for those announcements . Won't be able to pre-order anything today after all these sales but I'm definitely interested to see what Severin has in store.

Probably. I mean, these are Sept releases, and most of the announcements are previous releases with new transfer or just a 4k disc, so probably didn't take as many resources as say....the F13 box did for them.

But...in general, I'd wager we would have gotten SOMEONE related to the NOES series accidentally tweeting that they just recorded a new commentary or the like. Just as we did for F13, and Candyman..and...

I feel the same way. That boxed set is very solid, and even replacing the discs with the individual UHDs just isn’t worth it to me. But I’m glad it’s a chance to upgrade for those who wish to.

Personally, I’m thrilled about the Elvira release. It’s definitely not nearly on par with Mistress of the Dark, but there’s no way I’m not gonna get it.

Halloween 5 is owned by Trancas like the first and fourth films are. If they got those two, the odds are that they have the fifth as well. Regarding the Paramount titles, Scream went directly to Miramax to get them licensed for the box set when Lionsgate had the rights to the films. Maybe they're able to do the same now; Paramount doesn't have a majority stake in Miramax, fwiw.

They were working on restoring deleted footage, but that was at the end of Anchor Bay's lifespan when they didn't bother giving collector's editions to their horror titles anymore. Then Lionsgate took over and didn't really care.

It's still possible it's coming with 1-4 and the listing wasn't live before they all got taken down. There was a few hours gap between the listing for the original going up compared to the sequels.

Some people might. I don't think it'll be more prevalent unless the other films (particularly the producer's cut of Curse and H20 with its special features) get rereleased.

Buying the Halloween movies either two or three times each is def. the limit for me.

I also don't have a way to play UHD.

This will only be my second time buying the Halloween films, except the first, which I've owned 2 times now.

I own the 4K from Lionsgate of the first, which could be significantly better or worse, it's a fine release.

I own the original Scream Factory releases of 2 and 3, which could be a lot better, especially the transfer of 3.

I have the Anchor Bay BDs of 4 and 5, which are pretty mediocre/poor. Really hope 5 gets an upgrade too.

I have 6-8 in a 3 pack on BD where they are all on the same disc, I really want these to be upgraded. Echo Bridge garbage.

I have the 2018 film on 4K which is perfectly fine.

I sold mine last month. I assumed 4ks of the first three would eventually be released, and while it was a cool thing to have on my shelf, the fact is I’ll likely never have the impulse to watch anything beyond part five again (at least not anytime soon) and if we never got 4 & 5 in UHD, i could live with that as well. I couldn’t turn down the money the set was selling for, all of that considered. Now that 1-4 are confirmed, I feel fully justified in selling. I’d buy the rest if they ever hit UHD, but if they don’t, I’m not sweating it.

Elvira's Haunted Hills is a day 1 purchase for me. Really exciting to see that one coming.

As some have mentioned, if these SF Halloween releases happen, this should drop the price from the complete set a bit right? Really interested in purchasing it but its selling absurdly high right now

Alone In the Dark might be a rare blind buy for me, as this seems like the only way I'll ever get to finally see it.

As for the Halloween films, I'm good with the box set. I don't like buying the same things multiple times.

A lot of people are talking about Lionsgate; is there officially a deal between Scream and Lionsgate?
