I'm in for all 5 4Ks but couldn't care any less about the poor commissioned art. Hopefully 2-5 look and sound better than the blu-rays I have now, as for 1 I hope it at least sounds better.

I found this at Target less than 2 weeks ago if you're looking for a Loomis NECA figure. It was $60.

I'm keeping the box set but will gladly switch out the first five films knowing that scream is releasing this without anchor bay means that four and five will probably match the quality of the first three and we know that scream likes to include the original sound mix. I think that Halloween 5 will include in some form the deleted footage. Trancas films went through the trouble of finding that original footage what would be the point if no one ever sees the footage. I would be hopeful if we could get an HD upgrade of the Halloween II tv cut. Someone on another forum years ago mentioned they had an HD broadcast master of the tv cut.

I think enough people complained about floating heads that Shout saw it and decided to make the Halloween releases portraits of characters from the film for the new releases. I much prefer the artwork to the 2012 Scream blu rays of II and III. I really hope these have the reversible artwork.

The TV cut was only ever assembled in standard definition. Any HD versions of it are upscales.

I have Halloween II and Halloween III in Collector's Edition from SF, but missed the boxset so I only have the standard Halloween, Halloween 4 and 5. I'll probably grab these three but will not having the other 2 in the same "set" bother me to the point of purchase...??

Will also take a chance and blind buy Alone in the Dark as I see it mentioned as one from the golden era.

Unless they're coming up with new features for II and SOTW, I imagine these will be identical to the 2018 releases, just on 4K discs rather than being downgraded to 1080p. The 2018 release was an upgrade over the 2012 release, fwiw.

I really like the artwork for the Halloweens, Elvira, and Alone. I'll always be opposed to the obsession with always using theatrical artwork for home video releases. That's boring and I like seeing what artists can come up with to represent movies.

First time I ever hear of theatrical original artworks described as "boring", but I guess there's a first for everything.

Me I'm the complete opposite. No matter how gorgeous a new artwork is, I will always favor originals.

That's what I'm aiming to do then, just buy 4, 5 and the original. I believe my Blu of the original is the 2012. I don't have a 4K player so it's more just for the bonus features/deluxe packaging in regards to 4 & 5. I think the blus I have are fairly bare-bones. I know my Halloween (78) copy has the fantastic Cut Above the Rest Documentary which I watch every Halloween after the film.

I also find it rather dull when a new release just uses the same old art we've seen for decades instead of something fresh.

But it does feel rare for decent new artwork to be used for a release. Granted I do like the majority of Scream Factory's original artwork.

I'm not saying theatrical artwork is always boring, but the idea that we always have to use it over and over again is.

Every artist has their own concept for the movie, so it's not always going to gel with how we envision the films, or their posters. Personally, I really like these renditions of Halloween from Matthew Peak.

I wasn't exactly blown away by the 4K of Prince of Darkness. I hope these really shine.

I love the cover art for Alone in the Dark though. I'll grab that.
