Are these potential 4K Halloween announcements really that big? Not sure, but to me the 4K enthusiasts are only a fraction of the general BD audience with is only a fraction of the former DVD audience. Personally I‘m very happy with my complete Halloween BD collection and will not upgrade all of these movies again. Alone in the Dark would be the more interesting release, at least to me. The step from BD to 4K is way more subtle, than the big visual upgrade from DVD to BD, at least from my personal experiences.

The Halloween franchise, just like the Friday the 13th box set from last year, will sell well in 4K, and these releases will help Scream Factory to fund releases of movies that may not sell as well. Even though the first one already has a 4K release, it can be improved by including the original mono audio and the television cut. Halloween 4 would definitely benefit from a 4K release since the original Blu-ray is almost a decade old. Also, with Scream Factory handling Halloween II and Halloween III instead of Universal, we should get the extras from the previous release as well as the original audio. A Universal release of Halloween II would probably only include the 5.1 remix.

I called it. It only made sense for 5 to also be getting released if they were doing 1 and 4...

Those covers are absolutely awful. Way to start off wrong on a row of massive releases.

All they had to do was print the original artworks on the slipcovers and we'd all have been happy.
