I know that release is in Dolby Vision and I see no mention of it on these SF releases. I'll be hanging onto it for that reason alone.

Brand new scan and original mono audio. This also contains the extended TV cut, plus more extras than the Lionsgate UHD (albeit nothing new - if I remember correctly, these were already included with Shout's previous release).

  • Brand new 4K transfer from the original camera negative. I don't know if the previous release was from the OCN, but they'll be different nonetheless.
  • Dolby Atmos audio track
  • The 2014 box set had two exclusive tracks that have been brought onto this release - the original mono track (the mono track on the previous release was a downmix of the 5.1 remix) and the commentary track with Dean Cundey, Tommy Lee Wallace & Nick castle
  • Additional "legacy" bonus features that weren't on the prior standalone releases
  • The extended cut, featuring the theatrical cut (in HD) with the TV scenes spliced in (in SD)

I’d still be a bit bummed if the scenes weren’t cut together as they discovered both footage and sound.

I’ll be happy with anything from it, though.

I think we can assume they will be HDR being that they're 4K. I just don't see anything about Dolby Vision. Does 4K automatically equal HDR? I thought so, but could be wrong.

True, totally missed that in the details section, it's hidden but lists DV

That just made me look at the details better. I do see DV and it looks like on all of them!

Doesn't look like it... strange as they managed to include the original mixes for Halloween I-III. I guess this is one for the fans to pester SF with.

I'm in a bit of a pickle. Of course there's no bundle option for those of us who just want the 5 UHDs and couldn't give a toss about the vinyls because we're content with all the other, fuller forms of the OST we already have, and also because they're seemingly gimped. As it stands, getting them individually straight from Scream Factory will run around $200. I'm wondering if it'd be worth getting the vinyls purely as something to resell in the future rather than pay an additional $60 or so after tax, though if they're only 7", then this does not seem like a worthwhile deal. As a newbie with buying Scream releases from the source, I have two questions:

(1) Is there any chance that the individuals will be marked down before the release date, and if so, do they do what Amazon does and retroactively apply any such discounts to pre-orders made prior to such discounts? Because otherwise, saving like $50 total on Amazon's likely price drops for each by missing out on posters and early shipping could be too tempting.

(2) Is there actual urgency with the posters with the pre-order, or is the "while supplies last" just your usual marketing flair and you can expect to get everything whether you pre-order today or in a month?

In case anyone was interested I just received this from Shout about Battle Beyond The Stars:

The NECA figure is currently stuck in the Port of Seattle. NECA has advised us to expect delivery of the item at our warehouse in Louisville, KY on July 14. Orders will ship out of there within 48 hours of the item being received. We apologize for the delay, we pushed this release for months to try and avoid this but are still facing delays. Getting anything from Asia right now is a huge nightmare.

Nice of them to let anyone know. I am pissed that they didn’t post this anywhere that I have seen and they are making me inquire about it. They have had my money since March.

Do we have 100% confirmation that the original covers are on the reverse side or not? Cause I'm not preordering any of these until they confirm this.

The previous Carpenter UHD releases did not have a reverse cover to them.

It’s been confirmed, they have the originals on the reverse. They posted it on their Facebook announcement.

Not all 4K UHDs have HDR, like KLSC'S The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.

Considering the releases of the Carpenter movies on 4K from Scream had Dolby Vision HDR, I'd imagine it's a possiblilty.

Pre-ordered Elvira and Transformers 4K with their posters. I think I'll grab the other stuff on Bullmoose or something once my card renews next month. Not really interested in vinyl and pins.

I just want the five movies not any of the other stuff. Having to buy them for 36 plus tax each one is pretty expensive for these movies.

Considering I own the 2018 Steelbooks for 2 & 3, I'll probably pass on a double dip unless more features for those films get announced down the road. I would have bought 2 again in a heartbeat if it remastered the TV Version and included that one missing scene, but alas. 4 & 5 I am definitely getting, still on the fence about 1 though.

If I buy all 5 Halloween films ($36.99) individually, that equals to $184.95. I’m going to do that instead of buying the $244.99 edition which includes the vinyl’s. Though I have a vinyl player, (my mom has had it for decades) I have never, ever, used it. I know reselling the vinyls is always an option, I just can't see justifying in spending another $60.00 for something I don't care about.

I wonder why Shout just didn't give an option in not including the vinyls.
