I'm still just over the moon that Alone In The Dark is finally happening, I'm more excited for that coming to blu than I am the Halloween movies being released for the hundreth time honestly

House on Haunted Hill is public domain, yes but Warner has the official ownership.

Regardless, I don't know if Kino puts out PD titles, so Warner's deal with Scream is a safe bet (at least if they do, we might get a CE upgrade).

I would be pretty stoked if Shout/Scream released the 90's remakes of Piranha and Humanoids From the Deep. They would be perfect as limited runs of 1,000

I would love for Escape From New York to get a 4K release. I would definitely order it day 1. Perhaps SF would release it late fall or early winter.

They've also been renewing several of their MGM releases most recently Phantom of the Opera. So I wouldn't count them out. They do seem to have copies on their website but it's been sold out on Amazon for a while, not sure what's going on with it.

Do you think Shout Factory can get TMNT 1990 and maybe Secret Of The Ooze on 4K? Would be a dream release. Don't care for 3 really at all, still kinda like it the same way I like Turbo A Power Rangers movie.

That would be amazing but I bet the rights are complicated. The first trilogy was New Line, the 2007 remake was WB and Weinstein, and the newest ones are Paramount.
I bet it's not as simple as getting the rights from Warner to release the first two films.

Why aren't more mainstream titles like House Of Wax (2005) not even sold in stores? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to send 2-3 copies to Best Buy.

They will be closer to Halloween.

Seems that's really the only time stores bother stocking up on horror titles.

You make it sound like it's Shout's decision. I assume they'd love for their releases to be in physical stores. But if Best Buy doesn't want to carry them in store, there isn't much SF can do to force them.

so you're saying it's Walmarts choice to actively seek out 5 terrible straight to dvd horror movies every week to stock the shelves and will never sell so they'll get sent to Dollar Tree?
