Has anyone heard anything about the next Halloween films receiving the 4K scream treatment? I’d at least like to get Part 6, and ideally H20 and Resurrection. I can take it leave the Zombie films but I’d pick those up too. It seems sad if they only do the first 5 and they seem to be moving well.

If Scream Factory can obtain the licenses for the rest, it's assured they'll release them. Parts 6 and later however have different licensors and so there's no guarantee Shout will ever be able to release the films as those other studios may have plans themselves for them.

They'd probably wait until next October, too.

Hopefully! Or possibly the current Shocktober sale is not doing well, and Shout is able to process and ship orders quickly....due to slow sales.

Shame that we might not get anymore vintage horror from the 30s through the 50s anymore from SF. Heard many didn't sell well.

I wonder if the Kino horror from the period did/do well. Those Scream releases for those movies were not cheap.

That's nice. My order on 10/22 still hasn't shipped yet.

Same here as well. With the experiences I've already had this summer and with the holidays upon us again, I'm just going to go into every order I place with the mindset of outright expecting a month before I see the movies. KINO shocked me with their last sale (receiving the movies in about 7 days), but otherwise ~3ish weeks seems to have become the norm unless your dealing with a megastore like Amazon... But I'll take ordering direct any day over dealing with Amazon...

I've done ok on time with Kino. I don't expect perfect from these companies and yes, I do want to support them. I've made an effort to spend less on Amazon.

Shout charges far too much for most of their releases. They should be $10 cheaper on average. I have bought most of their releases from that period though.

So how do we think Scream Factory will mark Halloween?

1) Reveal the two October site exclusive titles (providing they're horror)
2) Reveal the January slate
3) Reveal a 'big' 2022 title (not released in January)
4) Do nothing (like last year)

I sense 4 is going to be popular lol.

Yeah, 4 is my bet too. I miss the more palpable excitement of the SF social media. It was fun there for a few years. Sometimes I feel like fandom knocked out the enthusiasm for that aspect of the company.

I think at the very least, we'll see the site exclusives. I'm an optimistic person, what can I say.

If we don't get an announcement today we won't get anything. I don't believe that most folks work on the weekends at Shout Factory.

I think the December titles were officially announced on a Sunday evening, so you never know.

Whispers in the Dark? Wow! I saw this for the first time last year because I watched an old clip of the Siskel & Ebert show where Gene was DESTROYING this film, calling it one of the worst of 1992. I had never even heard of it but I liked the cast (Sciorra, Alda, etc). It's actually kinda fun in a way but dumb as f**k almost from the start.

Btw, don't track down that Siskel & Ebert clip if you're interested in seeing this one because he DOES reveal who the killer is in it. That's how little respect he had for this one and...well...I can't really blame him lol.

Two intriguing choices. Couple more Paramount titles off the list.

Guess that's it for January?
