How did this film evade me all these years? Never heard of it until Scream Factory. I guess you can't know them all, but I'm hearing a lot of expectation for Alligator...

This might be a great blind buy for me.

That's possible but I assumed it cam in a slipbox because there are no new features. So the high price was a tough sell based on the content. I'm glad I bought it, as the PQ upgrade from the DVD is substantial and Elvira's Slipbox makes for a beautiful package.

I'm looking to grab The Vampire Lovers collectors edition, but if it's not gonna arrive before Christmas, I'll just wait until January to order.
They used to ship upwards of 2-3 weeks early and would advertise getting it early if ordering directly from them, however over the last few years they've gotten away from advertising early delivery and now often are slower to deliver than Amazon and other retailers per a handful of forum members reports. Considering this is dropping on December 21st I'd say the odds are slim that you'd have it before Christmas, however it is possible as I doubt it will be as popular of a release initially due to it being a re-release.

The big reason to order direct at the moment is still the free poster which you get with your order if you care about such things.

I got a shipping notice for it yesterday but I haven’t ordered from them on a pre order direct in a loooong while so I’m unsure if this is usual or not.

I ordered from Shout Factory and they shipped Vampire Lovers on Monday. Doesn't mean you'd get it before Christmas, but they are shipping them now.

Shout Factory has shipped (or at least, assigned tracking numbers) my two pre-orders for December 21st, LADY IN A CAGE and NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY.

With the recent weather disruptions in Louisville, Kentucky, who knows when I'll actually receive them here on the west coast?

The absolute worst shipping experiences I've had over the last year (including several recently) have all been associated with the main postal hubs in California. It didn't/doesn't matter where the package originates, what the weather is like, what other problems are going on, nothing has slowed the status/deliveries the way that the state of California and their hubs have. Packages go there to sit for days on end it seems. Hopefully your order avoids those issues and can take a path which avoids those distribution hubs.

Is this just Media Mail or is it everything in general? I thought the Jersey City hub was bad but I haven't heard any complaints about them in a while. I'm experiencing much longer transit times with packages shipped from Bullmoose in Maine. Packages tour the State of Maine for days before leaving the area.

Everything. Media Mail honestly hasn't been much different from the priority/first class options from what I have seen. Things just move slow through those hubs compared to other regions and even when compared to past shipping times that filtered through California.

I've seen a lot of the complaints about the Jersey City hub but never had any issues with that region myself. I sometimes wonder if where you live has an impact.. like routing to Nebraska from Jersey City isn't bad, but Routing elsewhere from their is bad. Similarly perhaps there is something in the routing from California to Nebraska that I experience that others do not. Who knows. Hopefully It should all improve in about 2 weeks time anyways after we get past peak shipping season and thankfully I'm not waiting on anything in particular at the moment.

I have a Fed Ex package that has been sitting in a small town for 6 days now. That town is only a two-hour drive from my house.

I had a similar issue with a Fedex package last week. Normally when it arrives at the location it did, it would go out for delivery the next day. But instead it sat there for seven days.
Apparently it's because of how backed up they are right now.

I wonder why Krampus is priced so high. For $37 I was kinda expecting fancy packaging (a slipbox would've been nice) but all we got was a standard slip and generic case. Maybe they had to price this higher because of licensing costs?

In my opinion a Tarantino interview would be ho-hum. Half the time he talks about a movie is just so he can hear himself talk about a movie. The more obscure the better so he can feel smug about it.
A Tarantino moderated commentary with Sayles/Teague? Or a John Sayles/Lewis Teague interview conducted by Tarantino? That would be neat. A Tarantino commentary would be cool, too.
Tarantino talking about a flick? Not gasp-worthy.

Guess we’ll have to put any hopes of a Nightmare set to bed for now (no pun intended). Cmac gave an update in the Elm Street thread:

It really does figure that all the big horror franchises — Halloween, Friday the 13th, The Omen, The Fly, Amityville, even Critters — get lavish, deluxe box sets, but my absolute #1 favorite horror series is relegated to a bargain bin Blu-ray set featuring 20 year old transfers.

I don’t understand why Warner wouldn’t license the films, unless they plan to release them on UHD. Are they worried SF release will affect the sales of the set they have re-released for the 10th time? Why did they agree to license Friday the 13th but not Elm Street?

I love revisiting this movie every Christmas time. I watched the uncut version as usual and wish that Billy would have axed Mother Superior. Oh well, at least his brother continues the blood trail.

Guess who found more Shout leaks ..This time it was actually Target that leaked them.

Presumably these are part of March's lineup:

[Show spoiler]Nightmare (1964) (Collector's Edition)
The Sword and the Sorcerer (1982) UHD / BD Collector's Edition
Trekkies 25th Anniversary Edition
The Core (2003)
