Hoping the 1982 remake of CAT PEOPLE gets an upgrade for its 40th anniversary this year.

Forgive me as I get very confused when it comes to the Dimension catalogue, but given that Cursed (apparently coming in April) was released in early 2005, would that not mean it's part of the Miramax catalogue controlled by Paramount now, rather than the late 2005-onwards portion controlled by Lantern Entertainment? I hope this is the case and SF are releasing Dimension films. EDIT: also it makes sense why Scream have held off on announcements for so long if they've been sitting on something like Cursed. (I mean I doubt there's a "Crave Cut" on it. Maybe a Rough Cut or something along those lines.) Last edited by HipsterTrash; 01-31-2022 at 12:45 PM. |

Definitely in for Cursed. Saw it only once about 15 years ago but actually thought it was quite a lot of fun, though certainly no Scream.
Hmm, Hellraiser box set on the way? ![]() |

Considering they were both produced by Dimension, distributed by The Weinstein Company, and released between Oct 2005 and 2015, they very well might. Those are the same criteria as Sin City: A Dame To Kill For which they just released last year.

Man, I hope so and that they include the theatrical cuts. I hate the fact that the Canadian release has them both on one disc. Would love for them to have separate releases.

Awesome news! I recently revisited Cursed after not seeing it since its original release, and I enjoyed it quite a bit this time around. I would love to see Wes Craven’s original cut, but I wonder if it even exists anymore.

I don't think we ever got a clear answer on who SF licensed Sin City: A Dame to Kill For from. The back cover didn't really offer up any clues to that. Cursed is definitely licensed from Paramount, but anything beyond Oct 2005 is not held by them, so it would have to be licensed from someone else, Lantern Ent. or Lionsgate apparently.

While I'm not necessarily interested in the RZ ones getting 4K releases, I'd like to see Scream 4 get a 4K. If they do in fact have the ability now, a Scream 2 and Scream 3 4K would be nice too.

I was expecting Scre4m to come from the same source as Sin City 2, but if they had it you'd think SF would have tried to release it in time for the 5th film. Unless they have other plans for it.
It would be funny if SF did a Scream Blu-ray set with unrated cut and tons of extras, considering they haven't gotten any 4K rights from Paramount yet. |
