They tend to rotate titles with each of these sales and both of the titles you mentioned had been in a couple of sales in the past. I'm sure they'll pop up again in a future sale eventually. I never did pick up "The Car", but did grab Death Becomes Her as a part of their Halloween Sale back in 2020 for $15.

Oh wow, the Vincent Price Vol 1 reissue is part of the sale. It's been OOS for some time now though unfortunately. Unless they've been saving its availability for the sale.

I wasn't prepared for the Halloween sale. I missed that one but I'll be ready this October.

Replacement disc for The Vampire Lovers CE arrived here today in Boston.

Random question---is it weird to break up and sell a part of a box set? Is that even realistic? I've been on a big selling project and selling the Amityville set is appealing but I kind of want to keep the second film. A shame it isn't available in a standalone.

I see people do that all the time on ebay. There are a variety of reasons a person may only want a part of the box set and so while I personally wouldn't do it, there is definitely a market for it.

I have a similar thing with the Vinegar Syndrome Amityville set and the "It's About Time" film, but they've made those available as standalones so I can always pick that one up on its own. It's this one that has been causing me to ponder a bit.

If you are going to sell them, now is the time to do so. With the set currently out of print I would imagine that the prices likely won't get much better and there has been an ongoing rumbling of a re-release from another studio eventually by many folks on these boards.

Considering how well know this franchise is and how old that original trilogy box set is, I feel like we're due for another release any day now.

That's the plan--I spent the last week watching Amityville films with the consideration of it, hah. I'm haunted houses and objects out.

Though the other thing is just that---wondering if I just parted with it, inevitably a copy of the second film from where would probably surface. . . The other option is I sell the thing and just wait.

So I get my Vampire Lovers replacement disc yesterday and watch it and about a hour or so in it freeze's where the Doctor is getting the cross out of the jewelry box. So I rewind it and it plays fine, but then it freezes 2 more times after that and I did the same thing rewind and it plays fine. I seem to get a lot of discs like this lately, Dune 4K and Dead and Buried 4K are some of the others. So just wondering if any one of you have the same problem with the replacement disc?

Could it be your player? Sounds odd that the same thing is happening with many different discs...

Not sure it's the player when other discs play fine. I got replacement discs for Dune and Dead & Buried and they played fine.

Um, what was the issue with Dead and Buried? I don't think I can deal with yet another replacement program

It's quite possibly a sign that your player is starting to fail. Do you have a second player you can test these discs on? If not, you might want to look into getting another player to tests these discs with. You shouldn't be having that many issues with discs.

Was hoping for Event Horizon and King Kong to be included in the sale. I'll have to get those from Amazon I suppose. Some of these will be good prices, but nothing I'm dying to have anytime soon.
