Does Scream not guarantee slips for the first three months anymore? Just got Krampus off Amazon and it didn’t have one, kinda disappointing

It's been years since I last heard them comment on the availability for slips. I think the general rule is that all copies pressed within the first three months would have a slip, but that could have changed.

But keep in mind that Amazon sometimes sells rewrapped ex-returns.

Realistically that guarantee is only going to be if you buy through Shout direct. My copy of Krampus from Amazon did come with a slip (I had preordered). However the slip was not sealed so I could easily see Amazon having lost/destroyed slips for this release.

What they both said; that rule applies primarily to ordering from Shout! directly.

When I bought Krampus (from Target) in December, the slip was not wrapped. I just got in The Howling (from Bullmoose), the slip was wrapped.

Does Shout! have a location in Oregon? I just placed an order for Cop Rock (don’t judge me) and was surprised to see it depart from Clackamas, OR.

with Freddy's Nightmares now on Screambox, i wonder if anyone will try and license out physical media rights for the show. if so a Scream box set of the series would be awesome. id even take a DVD set if that all they could do. does anyone know if it was shot on film or if it was a tape show

Yes, that would be excellent; the show was really underrated and had some really great episodes, one of them being the infamous origin of Freddy episode. I believe it was shot on tape but don't quote me on it; I read it somewhere years ago

The pilot episode with the origin of Freddy was interesting but still very much a product of television production of the time. It's neat to see but leaves the viewer wanting/wishing for much much more when viewed now. Tv standards at the time wouldn't allow for anything remotely close to what we had all come to expect from the film series and so it plays out very much like the low budget made for Sunday afternoon WGN style tv programming it was. I would love to see a movie or new one off tv special tackle the same episode again so that it's tone more closely matched the movies. It is still arguably the high point of the series however.

I have one of the more comprehensive bootleg sets of the series and agree that there would be a market for a DVD release of the show but I can't help but feel that there would be plenty of disappointed folks going into it for the first time expecting something much closer to the films. Even as a kid I remember trying to watch many of the episodes and thinking to myself "what the heck is this?". Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Darkside, etc this was not.

I ordered The Vampire Lovers and Paranoiac directly from Shout in the same order. The Vampire Lovers slip was not wrapped, but Paranoiac was. Not very consistent, but that's the way Shout does business sometimes.

I would love to have Freddy's Nightmares in a blu-ray box set! But IMDb does say it was shot on video. Bummer!

I bought House of Wax from AMZ, and the slip was not wrapped. I bought The Howling from AMZ, the slip was wrapped. I am curious if the Alligator slip will or will not be wrapped for next week.

I remember watching every episode when originally airing, it came on on Saturday nights in L.A. It was syndicated so each market /station could air it whenever they wanted to. It had it's moments, especially the origin episode, but overall it was a pretty terrible show, and saying that, I would still love to have it released. I was a completist horror viewer back then, thus why I suffered through two years of watching this. One thing many may not remember is that most episodes were sort of two stories, as the producers were most likely thinking they could break them down into half-hour shows later, more episodes that way for a syndicated package, which I don't think ever happened.

I was much more into the "Friday the 13th" series back then, also aired Saturday nights in L.A. for 3 years. Much more fun, but I don't think it's dated so great. But at the time, it was cool.

Anyone remember the later show that starred Robert Englund, "Nightmare Cafe" produced by Wes Craven? I think it only lasted 6 episodes, it was an actual network show not syndicated, I watched them all, but can't recall a thing about it except it took place in a diner, duh. I guess a google search will refresh my memory...

Agreed, it is very different from the movies and really feels like a lot of experimental filming. That's actually what attracted me to it. It was so different than everything else at the time and the mini stories of the doomed teenagers was fun. The dreamlike quality reminded me of music videos and once I got the feel for the series, I really liked it. But it definitely will be acquired taste for folks thinking it's like the movies.

It was either late last year or early on last month, but I'm sure Cliff MacMillan answered some questions in the North America discussion thread for the Blu-ray boxset of the Elm Street films, about whether they could license the films and Freddy's Nightmares from Warner Brothers (correct me if I'm wrong). Didn't sound very promising, and sounded to me like the best chance of a physical media release of Freddy's Nightmares would be from Warner Home Video or the Warner Archive Collection.

Of what I have seen of the TV series (one or two episodes (George Lazenby guest-starred in one of them) from when only the first season was repeated on Horror Channel UK), I wanted to see more. Sadly, the second season wasn't repeated. You have to go into this series with your expectations in check. I knew it was going to be different from the films.

I'm wondering if any of this behind the scenes stuff will make it onto the Cursed special features?

Ingram Entertainment, one of the big media distributors, has a facility in Clackamas. I've had blu rays shipped directly from there before.

My copy of The Howling 4K came with a damaged case and ripped artwork. I emailed them last Tuesday about it.

The new case and art arrived today. I have to tip my cap to Shout!'s customer service. I thought it came pretty quick and there was no hassle.

Just sharing this if it happens to anyone else; just email them and they'll take care of you

I'm still waiting for a reply to my email from 3 years ago for the replacement disc for Drag Me To Hell. Maybe their customer service has improved in the past couple of years.
