Ugh, my Mom's old top loader weighed like 40 lbs and I had to go with her the couple times she had it serviced since she couldn't lift it.

Nice to see the site exclusives, but that $27 price keeps me away again. Was nice when they were a 2 pack, but I guess those days are gone..

I'd certainly prefer to see additional Corman films released.

Wow - if that trailer for Meatcleaver Massacre is any indication, the Corman films are absolute cinematic gems in comparison.

I'm willing to go out on a limb and say we'll see another exclusive announced tomorrow. I'm holding off on Meatcleaver Massacre until then in the hope I'm correct and whatever is announced is of interest to me.

Have to admit I'm not familiar with this one, but it looks like they're selling it on Christopher Lee's involvement, which appears to be limited to additionally shot bookend segments (you can watch both versions of the film).
I wish they didn't have website exclusives. I can appreciate the idea behind it, but living in Canada it's just not worth ordering directly from Shout's website. The shipping alone for this title would be 12.99$ US. When you add in the cost of the title and then convert it to Canadian dollars it comes to 50$.

Seem's feasible that this (and potentially other titles) were picked up as a package when they went after the rights for Alligator.

A number of these films have probably reverted back to other entities, given the assorted DVD and Blu-Ray releases through different distributors, but maybe this was part of the same deal with the Alligator films and Sword and the Sorcerer. I'd certainly like to replace the Film Chest release of Poor Pretty Eddie.

I'm all in for "Meatcleaver Massacre". No, it's not "good", but honestly, there's been tons of worse Corman films over the years. And that trailer linked above IS atrocious, quality-wise and marketing-wise. The film is still crappy, but decent enough fun for some low-budget indy horror film made by nobodies, and not under Corman's control. I used to have that Catalina VHS of "MCM" that TripleHPK mentioned, and it was pretty rare even when it came out, as were most all of Catalina tapes. I have a feeling MCM was in the same package deal as "Alligator", but I have no real knowledge about that. Just a somewhat educated guess.

But yes, I'm also waiting for a second exclusive to pair it with to get free shipping. There's no rush on most of these really obscure titles. And it doesn't seem like many on here had ever even HEARD of MCM before, so excitement isn't so high since hardly anyone has even seen it, much less heard about it.

I love these obscurities!!! I hope more are on the way. This one came out of left field!!! Ya, I want more Corman and Arkoff and other things we all know, as far as older stuff goes which is what most of these web exclusives are, but MCM?!?!?!?! Yeah!!! Yes, I know I'm in a club of 1.

EDIT: zbinks beat me to my thought that it may have been in the "Alligator" deal, which I know also included Sword and the Sorcerer!

Shout needs to go back to doing doubling features for these $27 site exclusives.

I'm with you. This isn't the type of title that immediately generates excitement for me as I'm just not familiar enough with it, but it is very much in line with the comments I shared last week regarding transmutations and the "fun surprises" that I felt shout factory has sadly moved away from in recent years and so that alone is reason enough for me to pick this up.

Nah, the Scream process is 1) have cool successful system, 2) begin to charge the same or more than the items of step 1 with smaller amounts of content, 3) discuss the lack of preorders and low sales

Yep I'm skipping out on Meatcleaver Massacre. It looked/sounded interesting at first but I skimmed the film on Youtube and it looks kinda boring.

Shout's shipping charge is pretty steep so it would be weird if they put up another exclusive a few days after the last one. Weird for those of us who buy day 1, that is. That would mean I'd have to pay $6.99 again if I ordered the second one.

What I don't get is why they ship these expensive, site exclusives in cheap, overly large bubble mailers. Combined with the eco cases, every one one I've ordered, every one, has arrived smashed to smithereens if they ship that way. You have to wait and order enough titles to hopefully get a box.
