To be honest I only learned about the Documentary myself from another poster here when Tilly's post was brought up sometime over the last week or two. The consensus at that time was that this was likely filmed for the Documentary "Living with Chucky" but after doing a bit more research now I'm not as certain. The Living With Chucky Documentary has been in the works for some time now and so unless Tilly was contacted a second time (perhaps to speak on the tv series) I'm not quite as certain that it's for that.

Time will tell, but after looking at who Living With Chucky is being put out by and how long it's been in the works, I'm starting to lean toward this new interview being for something else. If we're lucky it's for a Scream Factory set finally, but I wouldn't put it past Universal to be doing something on their own as well. Either way, we should know soon as I would expect that whatever they have planned will be arriving by September/October. Once again, if Scream Factory is going to be at Comic Con a complete ultimate edition of the Child's Play/Chucky films seems like just the sort of announcement people will appreciate.

I've been reading about the documentary on the fan news sites for awhile now I kept getting the impression it was more like a "Crystal Lake Memories" or "Never Sleep Again" style documentary than a special feature...

I just want a reissue of child's Play, or better yet a 4K re-release of it. There's no reason to not have that movie in print at all times so I've held off on buying the 2018 release.

Watching WATCHERS 2. Love this flick. Watched it a ton growing up. Actually more than the first film.


On another topic, do we know whatever happened to the release of Hard to Die / Sorority House Massacre 2 that was rumored years ago when the director posted it was being worked on??

Always hoping to see that double feature pop up in one of these exclusive deals.

Shout Factory is advertising a "going out of Print Sale" on select titles. Nothing really struck me as new or surprising and the prices aren't all that amazing but for folks interested I figured I'd still post a link.

Also, Dance Macabre is one of the weirdest things you'll ever watch and while it's not a good movie it is memorable in its weirdness. I recommend giving that one a look before it's gone forever.

With the whole Amazon/MGM deal does shout still hold the rights to those films? Hoping we might see a 4K of species.

My understanding is that unless they already negotiated for the 4k rights and have the license, they'll need to go back now and re-negotiate with Amazon/MGM again. That's the big question mark that no one currently knows to the best of my knowledge. Will Amazon license out films for home video now that they are owners? We will likely see more mgm releases from various distributors based upon deals that were negotiated up to the finalized point of sale with Amazon for a while, but until someone chimes in and says we have negotiated with MGM's new owners, we likely won't know for sure and it's best to assume that those titles were negotiated before Amazon took ownership this last month.

The Kino insider seems like he'd be a good resource to ask this question. They wouldn't need to tell us of new titles... only if Amazon is open to licensing titles at all and are involved in negotiations with ANY boutique label.
