I pre-ordered The She Creature and The Flesh Eaters earlier today. These will make for a fun 50's classic horror double feature night in the home theater !

I was at Walmart this morning and saw they had the Fly Boxset for $39.96. It was the only Scream Factory I saw there. Looked like they were expanding their movie section with a bigger 4K section. They also had some Paramount steelbooks. First I have seen of these at Walmart.

Both the Fly and The Omen Boxsets popped up in many Wal-Marts a few years back when both releases first came out. Not all Wal-Mart's received them, but the larger "super" stores carried them generally. I've continued to see both fairly regularly since that time. It could be that some of the other/smaller stores are finally getting some of that stock trickled down to them if your Wal-mart didn't have them previously. I have a smaller Wal-Mart about 10 minutes from my home that has never carried them and has shrunk its movie section down to 1 half aisle on a single side, an end cap, and then the single standalone seasonal display (Tv shows on one side, whatever holiday is coming up on an endside, a mostly empty side opposite of the movies with a handful of film collections, usually dvd, and then another end cap side with usually another prmotion) that is generally speaking about 75% full at any given time. If your Wal-Mart is expanding in any capacity I'd encourage you to enjoy it while it lasts as even the huge Super Wal-marts in the area have downsized in the last year.

From their twitter, "CAT PEOPLE 4K and THE FUNHOUSE 4K will be further delayed due to production-related issues. CAT PEOPLE has moved to 8/30, THE FUNHOUSE to 9/6.

We apologize for the delay. We do our best to circumvent situations like this whenever possible, but occasionally they are unavoidable."

This doesn't bode well for IF Halloween 6, H20, etc get announced for October. Will probably get pushed to Nov.

Surprised it also wasn't mentioned, but Dog Soldiers has also been delayed to August 23rd now. Second Sight delayed their release to August 22nd recently, stating this

Quote:
Dear Customer,

Unfortunately we need to delay our release of Dog Soldiers until August 22nd.

We’re very sorry about this delay which is due to an unexpectedly lengthy approval process we have had to go through for all content we have created for the release. This has taken 2 months to complete and we are finally at a point where we can begin the production process.

We have had to remove the archive commentary with Neil Marshall and cast which we were not able to include but have replaced with a producer commentary. We are still including the archive solo Neil Marshall commentary. We are pleased that all our other content, including the book, will be included as planned.

As detailed on our site, in order to keep postage costs as low as possible, parcels are held until all titles are available to ship, and unfortunately, we can’t combine or split orders, so if your Dog Soldiers order contains other releases which you would like to receive first, we can cancel the order so you can place two new ones.

If you would like to do that, or cancel your order for a full refund, please email at this address including your order number – Shopify say that refunds take between 3-5 business days but we have had feedback that it is usually much quicker than that.

Apologies again for this delay.

Managing the release dates on post 1 and 2 has become a bit of musical chairs as of late. I appreciate everyone that posts about these delays.

Generally speaking I am pretty forgiving when it comes to delays as I'd rather they "get it right" without rushing a product to market, however I have my doubts that these delays will result in any additional QC and so that's frustrating... More than that however, delays like this during the fall season are particularly frustrating given that I only have so much money to go around during the last few months of the year and so trying to budget for upcoming releases, sales and everything else going on becomes a bit more difficult/chaotic when things start getting bumped out a month at a time.

If I'm not mistaken most of these delays are happening with 4k titles correct? It makes you wonder how long this pattern will continue given the few locations available to press these up.

Imma call it right now... there's no way they're gonna keep the release date for childs play 1 2 3... I expect it to be pushed to September... maybe even October depending on what they have for october.. in short .. I'd be very surprised if they stick with august release... considering they have cat people, dog soldiers, and red dawn for August now also.

They might get announced for September with a month's buffer in case there are production delays and they need to bump them to October.

They've been having a heck of a time keeping release dates on target, so I'm betting you're right.

That's what happened last year when Halloween 1-5 came out. The original release date was in late September, the releases ended up coming out in mid-October.

I hope SF will put Poltergeist 2 and 3 on UHD. They will go great with the original film’s upcoming UHD release. Also want to see the Jaws sequels and Psycho sequels on UHD. I assume the Leprechaun franchise is out of question for SF given they are owned by Lionsgate?

I'm in for Poltergeist II & III and the Psycho and Jaws sequels on 4K!

Decided to order recently a couple of Scream Factory titles (won't bother me too much if they don't have slipcovers), Alone in the Dark and He Knows You're Alone.

I can be a very patient person, but sometimes even my patience can be tested. I'm seriously thinking about getting sooner rather than later, the Scream Factory titles Psycho III and Psycho IV: The Beginning (or is there a better release of these two entries elsewhere?). There's going to be some rational reason why, but it's always puzzled me why Arrow's UK branch didn't follow-up their Blu-ray release of Psycho II with the last two entries in the series.

I picked up Alone in the Dark upon release and have watched it twice now I believe and truth be told.... I'm not a huge fan of that one. I'm hoping that a future subsequent viewing will spark something in me as the individual parts of the film I enjoy, but collectively the film just didn't do much for me so far. I also picked up He Knows you're alone around the time of release and still haven't watched that one. My expectations are pretty low for it as I have never watched it before and from the little I know I'm not sure how well it will hold my attention, but every now and then a film ends up surprising me (like American Gothic did recently) and so I'm hopeful that when I do finally sit down to watch it I'll find something to enjoy.

Only Psycho III came with a slipcover and so you won't miss out much by picking Psycho III and IV now. It is a bit surprising that III and IV didn't also see a UK release. As it has been a few years since Scream Factory released their editions and the potential for another overseas release (or a 4k release of the franchise) seems plausible, if you want to go for a slightly less expensive way to pick up parts 3 and 4 you could look into the 4 film boxset from Universal which according to the database is Region A & B friendly.

We got here locally in Germany a really amazing Turbine release of the whole Psycho Movie franchise a couple of years ago; sadly it’s oop now, but maybe worth tracking down for you. It’s one of my personal favorite box sets I have ever bought.

TripleHBK and mep,

I need to check it, but I have a UK Blu-ray steelbook release of the original Psycho from a good while ago, as well as the Arrow UK Blu-ray release of Psycho II (I know there was a documentary about the Psycho shower scene which had a physical media release a while back which I haven't got).

The German boxset of the Psycho films I was looking at, but like with another German Blu-ray boxset (would be off-topic if I said which boxset it was) I took the decision not to get it (you can't get very title you want to get, but you hope to get nearly every title you're interested in getting).

The Shout! Factory Blu-ray release of American Gothic I came across recently (from reading discussion on here). I'm not sure if I've checked it out before, but I've put that on the list of Blu-ray titles I'm considering getting (along with two films which starred Wings Hauser, Deadly Force and Vice Squad (I caught some of Vice Squad on UK TV channel Talking Pictures TV two or three months ago and liked what I saw (nice transfer as well).

My heart lies with the older TV series which Shout have released on physical media, but there are several film titles I decided to get and are thinking of getting (I decided earlier this year to get Shout's double feature Blu-ray release of Naked Vengeance and Vendetta (mainly for the former). I did want to get a copy of Windows (whose cast includes Elizabeth Ashley and Talia Shire), but if I want to get a copy of that Shout Blu-ray release, I need to be sharpish as I remember it being sold out recently directly from Shout.
