Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

After Midnight is one of those Scream Factory titles I think I've briefly checked out before and dismissed. But having re-checked it out, I'm likely going to add it to the list of Shout releases I want to get. Looks interesting.

It's hard for me to believe that the Halloween II tv cut was able to be obtained and released (along with those other films folks mentioned a few posts back) but Child's Play 2 is somehow lost to time.

There was a fire at Universal some time ago, I believe it's been about 13-14 years ago now. I doubt anyone has a comprehensive list of everything that was lost but it's possible the film elements for these scenes and possibly even the long form TV cuts from Child's Play 2 & 3 were destroyed. I know people have speculated that this is what happened to the film elements for the TV scenes from Halloween II. Youtube quality copies of these scenes might be all that's out there anymore for this stuff.

These kind of archival issues are somewhat common. I know Paramount had water leakage in their vault several years back and a lot of the still gallery material from Friday the 13th Parts 4 & 6 were reportedly a casulty of this.

Didn’t the TV stuff for The Thing just blur out the network logo? Worst case scenario they’ll probably just do that for CP 2 and 3.

The German releases of Child's Play 2 & 3 had the deleted scenes with a blurred logo in the lower right corner. I imagine it would be the same thing. I remember watching Syfy not too long ago and there were no deleted scenes in the 2 or 3 at that time. Probably because it didn't fit in with the HD master needed.

Funnily enough, I watched an HD master of Problem Child 1 & 2, also Universal, and the deleted scenes were still in there.

I added it to my collection earlier this year, and it was an okay flick. Fun enough to revisit another day sometime...

Big Trouble is a long shot now that it's in Disney's death grip, along with so many other amazing FOX titles that will likely never see a physical 4K UHD release.

So we should be hearing about their September titles any second now. I'm guessing we'll hear about their October 2022-June 2023 plans for some titles at Comic Con?

Took the plunge and ordered The Ninth Configuration, The Flesh Eaters and The She-Creature.

I get why they do these webstore exclusives, but I really, really wished they wouldn't.

It socks that Ti West's first two films, The Roost and Trigger Man aren't on blu ray. I hope Scream is considering them since they've pretty much released all of Larry Fessenden's films and West's early work was produced by Larry and his production company.
Also West is having a great return with X.

Seriously. On the plus side, not going UHD has really aided in my lists not getting too long anymore.
