The remake with Ryan Reynolds and a young Chloe Moritz was excellent. The boy (brother) was played by Asia Argentos recent "me too" underage "boy toy" Jimmy Bennett. Also loved the new sequel with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bella Thorne. Because they could not copyright the name MANY sequels have come out using cursed items from the house such as toy monkeys, and wood paneling. On MOD blu you can pick up The Amityville Vibrator if you ever wondered what happened to the one the original mom used to use......spoiler....its being used again. ![]() I just watched The Amityville Karen on limited edition replicated (pressed) blu and it was actually pretty fun by SRS. Also pre-ordered The Amityville Thanksgiving! On DVD I really enjoyed recently The Amityville Moon (Werewolf), and Amityville Uprising. Very entertaining low budget works. And YES! I have my pre-order in for the Double feature blu of Amityville In Space and Amityville In Da Hood. ![]() Last edited by anthony21879; 07-12-2022 at 02:51 PM. |

![]() ![]() Dr. Carlo Lombardi, a carnival sideshow mystic played by Chester Morris, performs age regression hypnosis experiments on his female assistant, Andrea, played by Marla English, in order to summon physical manifestations of the spirits from her past lives. A psychic researcher, played by Lance Fuller, initially dismisses Dr. Lombardi's sessions as mere parlor tricks, but he and the local authorities are at a loss to explain a series of grisly murders in the seaside community that are rumored to have been committed by a prehistoric monster that emerges from the ocean when Andrea is put to sleep. The 1956 American International Pictures sci-fi horror feature, The She-Creature, directed by Edward L. Cahn, draws its inspiration from the supposed age regression accounts that were quite a fad sensation during that decade. Thankfully, the creature design by B movie monster extraordinaire Paul Blaisdell is wondrous enough to distract viewers from the undeniably kitsch aspects of the hypnotism sequences. The first appearance of the titular menace has a genuinely eerie aura, even though the She-Creature becomes less threatening with each subsequent reveal. The engine that drives this 77-minute movie slowly but surely along its path is Marla English, whom you all know from the 1954 film noir, Shield for Murder, and the 1956 film noir, A Strange Adventure. She commands attention during her every moment on the screen, especially when her character learns to resist the evil doctor's mine control. Be on the lookout for the famous dog actor, “Spike”, as the pet of one of the main characters. The following year, Spike would set the bar high for his fellow canine thespians with his memorable performance in Old Yeller. This Scream Factory limited edition Blu-ray features the Mystery Science Theater 3000 airing of The She-Creature as an extra. I actually made it through the entire cacophony of annoying robot voices this time without turning off my television, and I even laughed a time or two. I tried looking at the SDCC website now to see what capacity Shout Factory will be involved (Panel or exhibitor) and was unable to find any mention of Shout Factory's involvement in any capacity mentioned anywhere on the site (and I looked extensively, line by line, day by day). I know we've seen a few comments stating that "things will be back to normal" this year but as far as I can tell, Shout Factory is not participating and will be making any potential announcements (if there are any) as part of an online only facebook/twitter announcement that just happens to occur at the same time as the con. It's possible I haven't been able to locate things due to looking in the wrong area but I searched a number of ways and went line by line Wednesday through Saturday and found nothing related to Shout Factory mentioned anywhere, and so I don't believe that they are going to be involved with Comic-Con this year. (I also am not going to hold my breath for any announcements that weekend either given this lack of clear involvement). Hopefully I'm wrong given the customer support responses people have gotten, but it seems very odd to me that 1 week out there is no mention of them if they are in fact somehow involved.
If the plan is to simply announce a few titles on Friday July 22nd, then that's all the same for me since I won't be attending SDCC anyways, but fall announcements and talking about the next year are two very different things and so while I do hope we get some October/November announcements, I'll still miss the old format of "here's what to expect for the next year". |

That would actually make more sense to me than them making announcements would if they aren't at SDCC. The 22nd would be awfully early for October/November announcements but would fit right in line with potential site exclusives.

They have a booth at SDCC, #4118. It just doesn't look like they'll have a panel.

Amityville in Da Hood reminds me of the name of a Leprechaun sequel (Back 2 Tha Hood). The last time I tried to get an idea of how many films there were in the Amityville film series, I didn't know where to start as prior to VS's Blu-ray boxset of some of the films, I only knew about the first three Amityville films, the Ryan Reynolds-starring remake and The Amityville Haunting. It's possible I had vague memories of seeing the front cover artwork for some of the VHS releases of the later films in the series. On a separate note, have you got Shout's Blu-ray release of Vice Squad? |
