The Amityville trilogy would be more exciting.

I can't help but to notice that Shout Factory TV has been releasing a bunch of my most highly requested horror movies lately. I do hope this means they're planning on releasing them on blu-ray at some point under the Scream Factory label:

Ripper 2: Letter From Within
Slaughter Studios
The Greenskeeper
Wishcraft

I really like your list.. Bride was a fun film for myself. The Jaws films seem to be frequently mentioned but tightly guarded. I feel I've heard the Hitcher is getting a non US release (please let me know if that is still correct as I feel like it was Region B bluray.) The Guest got a Second Sight 4k so I'm hoping they allow multiple companies to release like Dog Solidiers and Candyman. Fear needs a good release and I bet the special features would be incredible. I really hope we get enough requests for Joy Ride, Black X-mas, and Faculty as they were really fun for their time, kind of like the Dark Castle releases (still missing Gothika, the Reaping, and Orphan).. hopefully Orphan gets a 4k with the sequel coming out soonish.. would appreciate if anybody has information to correct on this post as I didn't thoroughly research.

Argh! I just realized at the very, very last moment that SF's box set sale included the whole Universal Horror Collection line-up. I could swear they were not part of it when the sale first launched, but maybe I just did not look hard enough ...

Not that the prices were anything near fantastic (Hamilton Books have had them on sale at the same price point for what seems like months now). But still, I had planned on buying the whole set if they ever came on sale at the same time from SF. This late in the month, however, I have already used most of the money set aside for discs on other releases, so I had to make do with Vol. 1 and 2 and Vol. 2 of the Paul Naschy Collection.

I am stoked to finally start on them, though. I have some of the films in the first volume from Eureka, but none of the rest, I believe.

I love the Universal Horror sets (I have them all - and I bought some of them through Hamilton Books). However, I'm disappointed that Horror Island is slightly re-edited to (mostly) remove the infamous error where a lighting technician appeared on-camera for a few seconds (you can still see him for about one second). You can watch the scene, unedited as it originally appeared, on YouTube.

In defense of Scream Factory, they aren't responsible. They used the print Universal gave them, and Universal previously issued Horror Island as a stand-alone DVD with the re-edit, so the re-edit clearly came from them.

To get the film in the original theatrical cut, with the lighting technician error as audiences in 1941 saw it, you have to buy a long out-of-print DVD set called Universal Horror: Classic Movie Archive, which is ancient by today's home-video standards. It's a charming b-movie, and part of the charm, for me, is watching that blooper.

I'm beginning to think that Friday's apparent announcements will merely be a couple more site exclusives. If it was something bigger, surely they'd hype it beforehand?

I hope it's something legit. I'm hoping for a knockout October this year for all the boutique labels.

Not necessarily... I don't believe we've gotten leaks in the past when it came to a mass line up for SDCC.. its probably gonna be Octobers line up... they could have a 15 16 title line up like they've done in the past.. but I'm not holding my breath.. just gonna have wait and see..

I'm going to pretend Friday's announcements are indeed just a couple of 50's Corman exclusives just to keep my expectations in check. Maybe it'll be an announcement for another streaming venture

Since it's comic con, maybe we'll see The 70's Amazing Spider-Man, or Captain America movie(s) get announced.

We very rarely got leaks sure, but in the past there were two very important differences:

1) They actually had a panel at SDCC (they're not hosting one this year). So if they're going to do anything, it'll be novel (and surely online only).

2) Beforehand, they actually told us they would be announcing titles there, usually putting a specific(ish) number on it.

I got some Gamera double feature DVDs from them. That was the first time I'd ever heard of Shout! Factory.

To be honest that kinda excites me more than a bunch of previously released 4K titles.

Has Scream Factory ever hinted at re-releasing the Sleepaway Camp films? I've been stuck at home all week with Covid and been watching tons of movies. Started off with all the Sleepaway Camp films and while the discs are great, I can't help but want more, especially in regards to the extras on the first movie. The legacy of Sleepaway Camp doc is good, but I feel like it barely scratches the surface. So many cast members aren't interviewed, guys like John Dunn and Tom Van Dell (amongst others) would be awesome on camera interviews. Then there's someone like Christopher Collet who, to my knowledge, has never spoken about the movie... surely someone can get him to talk about it for a few minutes...

Not a Scream disc, but also watched my Return to Sleepaway Camp DVD and actually somewhat enjoyed it after seeing it for the fourth time. Hopefully this could be included in a potential boxset.

What I really need at this point, is to get my hands on the Sleepaway Camp script, I'm just dying to gain some extra perspective on the movie... also would love to read Robert Hiltzik's script for part 2 which was apparently canned for being ''too dark''...

Meant to come here and write something like this a couple days ago, but just now feeling well enough, hopefully these fog-brained thoughts make some sort of sense...

Sleepaway Camp films in 4K would be welcomed. Hoping for the following from Scream (I won't state the obvious Nightmare On Elm Street films because they know we all want them)

Sleepaway Camp trilogy in 4K
Campfire Tales (1997)
The Faculty 4K
Psycho II and III in 4K
Any slasher films
