Can I de-peel my eyes now? Have had them peeled since early Friday waiting for the announcements.

I think it's finally happened. Shout has run out of stuff to release. At least stuff big enough to announce with fanfare at an important convention where all the exciting releases used to be laid out. I think we're at a point where everything big or doable has already been done and all that's left are 4K reissues of major studio titles. Personally, the only thing that would get me truly worked up would be deals with Disney and/or Lionsgate.

For me, it would be more Warner and Paramount...

News to me re: RZII.

I'm not aware of any business relationship between Cinedigm and Lionsgate, though, but I could certainly be wrong.

Until the SDCC announcements happen, those eyes are going to have to stay peeled.

At some point the Prom night films licenses (2-4) have to go up for grabs and I'd still consider those noteworthy but overall I think you are mostly right. The stuff I want now appears to be behind a wall that isn't too likely to come down any time soon.

At this point, I'd probably even buy a new edition as long as they were fresh scans (even if just blu ray) and not the same tired 2009 era scans they've kept putting out over and over again.

Maybe they didn’t want to compete with Marvel announcements? Last chance would probably be Monday or Tuesday. Then I’m giving up haha

I don’t watch the Nightmare on Elm Street movies much anymore just because of how shitty the Blu-ray set is. It makes me mad that I still have that piece of dog crap on my shelf after about a decade or more. You’d think these were bottom of the barrel films that have almost no fans due to the lack of love they’ve received on Blu-ray. Pathetic.

Yeah I've had people comment to me "you think Nightmare is the best horror franchise, but you don't even own one of them on bluray?". No I don't, I have 1-4 on betamax but am going to hold out on discs until they give us proper releases.

The sad thing is, they got better treatment on DVD than they've gotten on Blu-ray. In 1999, we got that deluxe box set with awesome packaging. Each film was on its own disc, in it's own case (with original theatrical poster art) and while only parts 1 and 7 had a commentary track, we got that bonus eighth disc loaded with extras. Unfortunately, you had to navigate through that maze.

SF already has deals with Warner and Paramount. I'm told by another poster (BarnDoor) that they already released around 50 Warner titles. Also, I believe SF is the only boutique label, either in the US or the UK, to get such a deal from WB.

Criterion have also released a fair few now, but yeah, other than those two, no one else comes close.

Cliff did suggest there would be more WB titles this year, though we've only seen one to date (Femme Fatale). Looking at the troubles Warner Archive are having in getting back into the swing of things, there's probably an obvious explanation for that. Hopefully more will come next year.

For convenience, a list of WB titles released by Shout/Scream Factory to date (by my count, 54 x Scream Factory and 14 x Shout Select in terms of individual films, though I'm less sure about the latter):

Night of the Lepus
In the Mouth of Madness

I couldn't read your comment and not have a mental image of that scenario.. jam-packed audience getting steady drips of information as they announce Marvel title after Marvel title leading uo to today's Avengers announcement until the crowd has finally settled to a lull and the next panel steps on stage.. the next panel goes on stage and yells that they have some exciting news as well and that there is going to be an all new transfer of 1990s Ghost Dad. This is absolutely in no way representative of anything that would really happen. I just wanted to share my imagination with all of you.

I believe we are still getting those announcements because the collective belief in this forum believes we are and I don't think this forum deserves that kind of heartbreak.

I knew they had done a deal with Warner (from Barndoor's list I have 4 titles, 2 of which I upgraded from the Dvd's) and Paramount, that's why I said "more" (new deals) but I had no idea they released that many Warner titles! I was thinking maybe they could pick up the slack of WAC (who, as Barndoor stated, is recovering from almost being decimated) and start releasing films like Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman, The Beast With 5 Fingers, The Black Zoo, Confessions of an Opium Eater, The Deadly Tower, Flareup, Kansa City Bomber, Murder Is My Beat and maybe even some of the remaining films from the Legends Of Horror set. As far as Paramount goes I am appreciative of some of the titles they acquired that I thought would never get released (Prophecy, The Ghost And The Darkness, The Tenant, Lady In A Cage) but I really thought we would be getting a lot more (I know, greedy right? ). Hopefully they can make some new deals and acquire more titles from both studios....

If anyone would EVER do it, it might be Shout, but I'd LOVE a blu ray of "Fingers" (1978), starring Harvey Keitel, Jim Brown, Tisa Farrow, and Michael V. Gazzo. It is with New Line, so Warner Bros. . I've shot the request Shout's way on a few occasions.

I don't know if Warner would do it themselves, and I know Criterion won't do it, now.

But, Shout MIGHT. I keep hoping....

Is the blu ray that is included in the upcoming Fog 4K, going to be remastered? Will it be remastered like the blu that is included in the Halloween 1-5 + Howling 4K's?

I was thinking about this one a few weeks ago since Tony Sirico passed away. I really hope someone releases it.
