Just received the notification as well. This still leaves the sale titles sitting in limbo.

I am thinking about putting one last big order in of a lot of bucket list titles, like some of the lesser Hammer productions, as I believe they have never been so cheap before, and I wonder whether they will ever be again. Also, I can't stop thinking that some of the really old titles, that are discounted to a measly $9.99 (like Saturn 3) may be on the end of their run.
SF gives some heads up when something is going OOP by putting it on a going OOP sale page. Anything released more than 3-4 years ago should be prioritized. These sale prices were the best I've seen from them and very similar to last year's. This year's 18.50 4k prices is the lowest I can ever recall from SF.

I had to pick up, Man's Best Friend...for $15.00, it was an absolute steal as I'd been waiting on a decent or temporary price drop. My copy is expected to arrive today.

Phew, while part of me is sad that the sale is ended, another part is relieved, on behalf of my wallet. Placed five orders and still only got a fraction of what I would have liked to have picked up. Managed to put a huge dent in my Hammer needs, and the rest were just odds and ends. A pretty random assortment of things that struck me as interesting relative to the price.

The final damage:

[Show spoiler]

Plus the Night of the Demons action figure set, and two free t-shirts!

Christ. Ok, now to try to regroup and get a little $$$ together to get a Kino order in. This season has been absolutely brutal!

I just received half of my order in the mail. Does Shout occasionally split their shipments?

Also, for those who were wondering, I received my Halloween I and III 4Ks in the hard slipcovers. Obviously that doesn't guarantee everyone will get one, but there's still some out there.

RIP Austin Stoker (1930-2022). Hopefully Shout can release a UHD of Assault On Precinct 13 (1976) someday.

Yes. They shipped my copy of Bite by itself only a few days after ordering and then shipped my other 8 titles last Friday. They ship based on what they have on hand and so it's possible to get several shipments from a single order.

To clarify, it's not based on what we have on hand; orders are split because we ship from different warehouses.

I received the rest of my sale order today. Unbelievably Dawn of the Dead came with a minty fresh slipcover. Sadly no slips for Land of the Dead or Teen Wolf but overall things appear to be in excellent condition, and this was another excellent library building sale for me.

Ordered a few hours before the sale ended. I've wanted to see Colossus for ages and its never been anywhere close to as cheap as this sale.

It was an incredible sale, best I've ever seen from Shout, but I've bought some omnibuses recently and also need to make Kino order.

When it wasn't announced as part of December's slate I took that to mean that it will be coming at some point in 2023 but likely not soon. The asking price will likely be close to 3x what I paid for this Blu ray release with thr 4k disc and possibly a new commentary being the only real new additions and so for now I am more than content with the Blu Ray release. I generally don't have a problem double dipping (in this case it would be a triple dip as I also still have the old universal release) and so I'm content to wait a few years if needed for the 4k to drop in price and I'll grab it then.

Truth be told I'm not a huge zombie movie fan anyways and so outside of NOTLD'90 I don't often revisit many zombie films and this will likely prove more than enough for me for years to come.

I guess 2022 is over at Shout as far as new announcements are concerned. So, overall, what did everyone think of their 2022 slate? For me, I appreciate the 4K upgrades from OCNs. Fresh scans from original sources for UHD will ALWAYS entice me to double (or triple) dip. Nothing much in the way of Blu-ray premieres but I attribute that to a lack of availability. A lot of stuff is tied up in legal entanglements, while other titles have unclear ownership. As far as the Shout exclusives, they've kinda been weak IMO and rather slow to roll out. I really wish they would pick up the pace and reissue more of those early Corman DVDs.

2022 will end with a bang with Carrie, Black Christmas, Company of Wolves and WarGames on 4K. A shockingly good lineup.

I think it was overall really good. The Sony Chiba set might be my favorite release of the year as long as the compression and encodes are good and there are no screw ups. We also got Alligator which has been one of the most requested titles for years on this forum. In the Company of Wolves is also big news.

Now, 2023 should give us A Simple Plan. That's probably my most wanted title from them.

Personally, I'm not too interested in 4K upgrades for the most part. I would definitely choose to buy a 4K over a bluray if it was a movie I didn't already own, but I don't necessarily feel compelled to double dip. However, they've definitely been killing it in terms of choosing titles to upgrade, and I admit I've been tempted. I would personally prefer more new-to-blue (or 4K) titles next year, though I agree it's probably an availability issue. Though it sounds like they have some stuff in the works, so that's promising.

I have actually kind of appreciated the chance to dedicate more of my movie buying budget to picking up some older releases I've been putting off, as opposed to getting distracted by new releases!

I'm also guessing they are bogged down with orders now. My Shocktober order has been processing for a week as we as the new film release of The Deer King. Hopefully these go out before Halloween.

I don't even have a 4K setup yet, but I've been choosing that format if it includes a Blu-ray disc and the price difference is just a few dollars more.

I can handle the cost of a 4K player and receiver. But a 4K upgrade for me will require a new projector, which is going to cost me a few thousand. (My minimum will be the Sony VPL-VW325ES projector, to upgrade from my existing Blu-ray projector.)

Same here. I was glad for the Halloween sequels, Black Christmas (though it's not out yet) and Return of the Living Dead's upgrades, particularly.

I'm not sure what 2023 will bring in terms of 4K upgrades. I enjoyed their release of Final Exam when it came out all those years ago, but someone else has the 4K rights for it. My biggest wants would be the two Silent Night, Deadly Night films, the Sleepaway Camp trilogy (if they can manage to get the rights for the second and third films again), The Burning and The Slumber Party Massacre. They've released the latter in an upgraded 4K scan already, so I imagine it's on the table.

And now that they've been able to get some of the Dimension Films titles that are with with Paramount, my #1 wishlist title from them for yet another year is The Faculty.
