I think you're safe. Anything under Disney that's not a brand new film or part of their animation dept. is pretty much doomed to a vault. I just bought another copy of Can't Buy Me Love on DVD to replace my old disc. I hate buying DVDs lol

I ordered both of the new Shout Factory exclusives...

The Great Texas Dynamite Chase / Eat My Dust!
Wheels Of Fire / Raiders Of The Sun

Shout has raised the price of these exclusives a bit, but these look to be fun drive-in features, so I was still all in.

Wheels of Fire rules it's got the vibe of an Italian post-apocalyptic flick but filmed in the Philippines. It's got everything you'd want out of one of these movies and more.

Bummer that I have to re-buy Wheels of Fire even though I have the Code Red release already.

it is odd...the site worked for me today and now I can't get it to load. I even cleared my cache and cookies. and still no luck. Anyone else run into this issue after they cleared out the cache?

UPDATE:

i rebooted and that did the trick

Same. It's a fun movie, so the double feature will be worth it anyway, though.

The prices certainly reflect that.

I wish they'd give these Corman releases runs of closer to 5,000-10,000 if they are going to keep the prices at $30. At least some of these are new transfers! They are trying to gross more on these releases than some of Corman's budgets lol.

I like the new transfers and debuts too but if they really cared about their customers they would’ve paired Wheels of Fire and Stripped to Kill together and the other two newly released films together. Instead they force you to buy two releases, and these two films again, if you want the newly released films and already purchased the Scorpion Releasing and Code Red versions. It’s not like Wheels of Fire and Stripped to Kill are out of print and expensive. Both are still available at Screen Archives and Stripped is only $9.99.

I appreciate the head's up. Stripped to Kill was the only title I was interested in and so I went to Screen Archives just now and picked it up for $16.35 shipped.

Maybe the Shout edition is better in some way? I ordered it just now. Gotta have the other Post Apocalyptic flick. Please do Battletruck next.

I don’t think the re-released titles indicate new transfers so they’re probably using the old ones. As for encoding, they went from having their own discs to now sharing one. Doesn’t mean they’ll look worse but I doubt they’ll look any better.

With both Australia and the US releasing this old transfer, the only slim hope is that a UK company (Indicator?) might do something different. Slim hope, and I wouldn't hold my breath - but that is the only option I see for something better.

For now, this is definitely not a pre-order for me. Will wait for reviews and if same PQ then I will just get whatever is cheaper.

I went with those six titles from the sale. I also had the The Fly box set in my cart, but I decided to hold off on that until the next sale or something. I hope Child's Play comes with a slip, so it matches my other Shout 4Ks.

I'd say it's very possible considering CR was pretty bad.

I really do wish the Shout/Scream sales were a bit less expensive---more along the lines of the Kino sales, which feature great prices.... Still, the savings this time around were substantial enough that I picked up a few things from my wish list:

Random thought, are the Grudge sequels with Sony? It's a bit surprising to me that A) They haven't had a US HD release given we just saw a new film last year, and/or B) That if they are with Sony that Scream Factory didn't pick them up a few years back when they were raiding that catalog.

I've never been the biggest J-horror fan but in my quest to spook my 9 year old daughter but not scar her, I showed her the trailer to The Grudge the other day when we were talking about movies, and then today by pure coincidence the trailer for The Grudge 2 played prior to the film Paranormal Activity 2 on my Plex Server and so we both watched that as well and talked about the film series again. I myself have never seen any of the sequels after the original film and so I'd very much be down for a Scream Factory (or Arrow) box set of all the films.
