The last Grudge film was actually released in January 2020. Three years. Time flies!

It might be. But as of right now it's the same disc until we get more info.

Wish they would have paired something else, something new with Raiders Of The Sun.

I thought the same thing! I was expecting SF to at least get most of the Ghost House Pictures films from Sony. I'm guessing the only one they wanted was Evil Dead...

I kinda think that Arrow might release a box set of the Japanese films in the near future.

Angry No 1950's Horror/Sci-Fi Blu-ray Releases... STILL?!

My disappointment and malcontent continues to grow even greater over Scream Factory's complete disregard for releasing more 1950's Horror/Sci-Fi films on Blu-ray.

This trend will need to change soon or else these earth-people will feel my mighty wrath... MWA-HA-HA-HA...!

Criterion put out the disc...worth checking out. The creatures don't really get shown till the end sadly. they are really cool looking.

I got my sale shipping notice this morning at the crack of dawn. I think that's the fastest I've ever gotten one from Shout. Color me totally stoked.

Is anyone else thinking that, aside from releasing 4Ks of titles that’s eye releases under that label, the Shout Select label is dead? Seems like they’re planning to release non-horror titles under the regular Shout label, at least going by their recent announcements.

Jackie Chan Collection Vol 1 (7 films)
Jackie Chan Collection Vol 2 (8 films)
Sonny Chiba Collection (7 films)
Magnificent Seven 4K
The Last Detail 4K
A Walk to Remember

Not really sure how you can call it dead when they're releasing all of these in recent months (besides BD to 4K upgrades).

Far from dead. The dedicated Shout Select thread is pretty much a ghost town, though - is that what you meant?

Yeah, it's not quite dead but it seems like they've mostly wound down shout select as a priority.

Shout Select isn't dead, they've been doing a lot of boxsets lately which has likely tied up a bunch of resources. The Jackie Chan collections are Shout Select, we got one in January and another coming in April. Those have 15 disc's between them so a lot of resources are tied up. There was also that Sonny Chiba set not long ago and it was also Shout Select.

I got around to watching Dance With Death tonight. My only other viewing was from a vhs quality source. My one issue is that for some reason when sealing the plastic wrap, this one was sealed on the spine, like twilight time used to do, so now that I’ve paid $30 for the limited pressing, I’ve also got to go find/buy a replacement case that doesn’t have plastic stuck all down the spine. A bit annoying given the premium that they are asking for these releases.

Got an email from Shout about their new website, would also explain the problems some of us have been having accessing it lately:

Greetings, all!

The next time you visit the Shout! Factory store, you will notice some BIG changes to the site. Like ... a new site entirely!

We've kept almost all of the features you're familiar with, but we've improved many of them - and even added a few new ones. And there will be even more great new features rolling out in the weeks to come!

Here are just a few of the improvements we've made to the new site:

New site layout, including new product pages (which will require less clicking back and forth)

Better filter options (which navigate faster than dropdown menus)

Wishlist will now show dates as items are added

More video clips on the product pages

Quick view feature

Quick buy option

More payment options

Canadian currency option

Enhanced mobile experience

But that's not all!

We'll soon be launching a Facebook and Instagram store, as well as our very first app, making purchases through your phone even easier!

Additionally, we're also planning a loyalty program, and we're finally going to offer gift cards!

One final thing to note: If you have any immediate issues with accessing the new site, please try refreshing your browser or try using a different browser.

We look forward to your feedback; we hope you love the new site.

Check out our BLOG for more details!

Please note: You will need to login to your account and change your password the first time you come to the new site. You will also notice your past order history isn't available, but not to fret: It will eventually show up. It has not been lost!

New design is way worse. Big and flashy, and not as nicely organized as the old one. The upcoming releases section for instance isn't broken down by month anymore, but just one big list
