Decisions, decisions.

I like both Tales from the Hood 2 and 3 well enough. Creepshow 3 is definitely worse than both of them. It’s about on par to slightly worse than the worst parts of Tales from the Hood 2.

I’d like to have a Deathrace 2000 with the treatment Creepshow received.

I appreciate the words of warning. There is still plenty of other titles out there for me to pick up and so perhaps I'll pass on Creepshow 3 for now and revisit the idea of picking it up, only if it lasts a while and I knock off several of the other wants first.

Do we presume Creepshow 3 is still with HBO? If so, that's interesting for two reasons:

1) This would be the first time they've made a Warner Bros title a site-exclusive LE (indeed, they very rarely do this for major studio titles - I think Dr Strange from Universal is the only other such example)

2) I believe this would be the first time they've licenced a HBO title from Warner Bros, seemingly confirming HBO titles are now on the table (given that we learned they've been absorbed by WB over the past couple of years, this would not be a complete surprise, but a welcome development all the same).

If that's the case one of my most wanted upgrade to Blu-ray releases from HBO is the 1996 film Gotti starring Armand Assante. Not sure if Shout would release it but fingers crossed.

I'm absolutely with you there. HBO have some great stuff in their library I'd love to see released, Gotti chief among them (but also Ricochet, Fort Apache: The Bronx, Flashpoint, Cast a Deadly Spell, The Guardian, Blackout, and numerous others).

But on Gotti, I did see a recent interview with Armand Assante where he suggested that someone has bought the rights to Gotti and 'are withholding them', the indication being that the film no longer resides with HBO. I've no idea if he's correct in saying this. Seems curious that HBO would lose the rights, given it was their own production.

I don't know either way, but I don't think HBO had anything to do with making the film. They seem to have only been the distributor. The movie hasn't been available on HBO's streaming service in years.

I love obscure horror sequels with little link to the originals, such as the Amityville sequels VS released and the latter two SNDN sequels, and don't want to discourage their releases. But Creepshow III, for $30...

Assuming Creepshow 3 is still an HBO video release, I would consider it a one-off type of thing, where Warner licensed them 4K rights for the original Creepshow (another first for Shout and Warner), and perhaps SF figured they also acquire the 3rd film, and have it ride the coattails of that one, and sell it as a site exclusive (which is probably the case even if they licensed it elsewhere lol). Don't think it opens any doors as far as other HBO films go.

It's very possible, but if Warner have indeed absorbed HBO (as George Feltenstein suggested), might not the HBO catalogue be treated just like the New Line library say? Obviously we can't jump to any conclusions until we see more, though the trouble is, almost all HBO titles that would fit the Scream Factory line are their TV movies, and, however well-produced they are, they usually don't figure too highly on Scream's wants list. The only exceptions I can think of (meaning theatrical releases) are The Hitcher (which Warner could well release themselves), Fortress (1985), and Ricochet.

The possibility they have access to HBO now is the only silver lining in the Creepshow III announcement.

Yeah,, it's definitely possible. It certainly means licensing HBO titles aren't off the table. I do see that the film is only streaming at IndieFlix, so I am wondering if HBO/Warner even have distribution rights anymore. The site does have a lot of studio films there, so who knows.

I wish someone, anyone would open the floodgates for HBO titles.

I'd love a blu of Citizen X, a criminally underseen serial killer thriller (I have the old snapcase DVD).

There's a ton of other gems I have fond memories of like:

Draw!, El Diablo, Gia, By Dawn's Early Light, The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom, Exit to Eden, Head Office, Turbulence, Blacktop...

(I'd much rather it be Kino Lorber though. Not sure I could do $30 a pop for limited site exclusives of any of those...)

Know the rights have changed, but would love a box set or steelbook set of Sleepaway Camp. If any one interested have a slipcover for Candyman to trade or sale.

Probably my most anticipated HBO Film has to be Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. I think it fits perfectly within Shout's aesthetics too so it'd be a great fit. Wild this one still has evaded a Blu-ray release.

All this talk about HBO films and no one's mentioned the biggest one yet...

[Show spoiler]

In all seriousness, I would love a release of The Night Flyer and Cast a Deadly Spell.

If there is a deal that allows HBO titles, then give me Ricochet. I would say the Hitcher as well, but I'm guessing that's coming from WB direct.

With Scream Factory re-releasing a lot of titles on 4K, is Day of the Dead coming up soon?

Does anyone know the potential likelihood of this? SF still have the rights?
