Hoping for an Elm Street box set. But I’d guess likely the Blumhouse Halloween films to match 1-8… maybe the Rob Zombie films if we’re lucky.

The Jaws sequels are likely out of bounds, and with 2 coming to 4K UHD it may be that Universal themselves do 3 and 4.

You sense that the big acquisitions will come from the Warner and Paramount deals. In terms of films new to Blu-ray, WB doesn't have many obvious high profile titles left to licence, save perhaps Xtro (nothing else screams CE, though there remain dozens of candidates for a regular release). Paramount has some, but mainly via the Miramax holdings. The Crow would be huge.
It's amusing that they hold onto them when the franchise reeks of dead fish smell at this point with nothing new in over 35 years.

I could see Psycho II (which has its 40th anniversary this year) and maybe III getting an October release.

For October, I wouldn't count out the Rob Zombie Halloween film's for the 4K treatment either. Lionsgate or not, weirder things have happened. The David Gordon Green Halloween trilogy is another possibility. Even though they already have 4K releases, I can still see SF re-releasing them with more extras. Maybe we'll finally get the alternate ending for H18 too.

I highly doubt we're going to see anything on the DGG Trilogy anytime soon, if at all. Aside from ATMOS tracks or more special features, those 4K discs are just fine. Scream/Shout have not released any 4K discs for films that already had 4K discs currently.

Would I buy them? Absolutely, I just highly doubt they'll happen.

They released the original Halloween when it already had a 4K release.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Universal has been pretty willing to license out anything over to them and SF are clearly big fans of the franchise. They've already done a box set of all the films, and just recently released the first 8 films in 4K. It just makes sense that they would do it. And like I said there are extras that can still be included such as the alternate ending from Halloween 2018 and other scenes that were cut and not included in the previous releases.

It will also have been a year since the trilogy ended and about 10 months since the release of Halloween Ends on 4K/blu ray so probably enough time for Universal to have made their money off the previous release and not care about licensing it out along with the other 2.

They're certainly due. I took a look at Scream Factory CE's released up to the end of 2017 (let's call it 'the first five years') - removing the Fox licenced ones still with Fox/Disney (and so very unlikely to be upgraded), these are the ones yet to be upgraded to 4K by SF or indeed any one else:

[Show spoiler]
Deadly Blessing
Prison
(OOP)
Phantasm II (OOP; with Well Go USA)
Day of the Dead
Psycho II
Psycho III
Assault on Precinct 13
Body Bags
Sleepaway Camp
Ginger Snaps
Squirm
(OOP)
Class of 1984
Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers
(OOP)
Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (OOP)
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight
Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood
The Serpent and the Rainbow
Manhunter
(OOP)
Jeepers Creepers (OOP)
Jeepers Creepers 2 (OOP)
Raising Cain
Dead Ringers
Rabid
Dreamscape
Poltergeist III
(OOP)
Firestarter
Robocop 3
Serial Mom
The Lawnmower Man
Slither
Teen Wolf
Teen Wolf Too

A number of the MGM and Universal titles at least seem likely to be upgraded (not all, especially in the case of MGM), though I'm really not sure about some of the OOP stuff. Of course, it's also possible SF may upgrade some non-CEs, though I sense they will be very select with this (the likes of Witchboard and Night of the Demons come to mind).

As a HUGE Burning fan I am torn on this new 4k release. I have the arrow steel and OG scream release. Kinda want the poster but man if ever I wish Scream Factory could have included a vinyl, or NECA Cropsey figure. I just need a lil more motivation. Hell if they would just include the Hysteria Continues commentary track from the arrow release I'd buy just to get all the special features in one package.

None of those films already had a 4K release (Halloween 1978 aside), so there was a huge incentive to release them. With the DGG trilogy, the only sales will be from completionists. Your every day consumer will see they can get the entire 4K trilogy for less than 30 bucks on a good sale, they aren't going to pay 30 per titles.

As I said, it COULD happen, but it doesn't feel likely. All of the "recent" films SF have released did not have a 4K version availible, so it made sense. Unless they give a TON of new extras, there will be little reason for anyone to grab them other than completionism.

Your every day consumer isn't buying physical media to begin with. It's a niche market as it is, these releases are catered to a specific group. People (meaning collectors) will still buy them.

And lets not act like just because they haven't re-released many 4K titles, that they haven't re-released countless blu ray titles on blu ray that already had previous releases. So Just because something already has a release, isn't going to stop them from doing their own.

Pretty huge news for the 4K upgrades, but nothing for me this time around. Maybe some exclusives will be coming, but I'm always hoping for more new to HD titles and more HK stuff. The recent Tiger Cage Trilogy from Shout was pretty epic.

The difference being 4K is the niche of the niche. Head over to the Physical Media Sales Thread and look at how abysmally 4K discs sell compared to blu-ray and DVD. Shout is a company, and their focus is making as much money as possible. They want to release titles that will maximize profits. By releasing 4K titles that already exist in the US, they're minimizing their marketshare incredibly. MAYBE in 10 or so years, if physical media is still around, maybe. The benefit of selling 4K titles that no one else has is, there's nowhere else to go, which is why they don't double dip THAT way.

You'd have a better chance of getting a Clownhouse 4K.

You're very wrong and I think we will more than likely see the DGG trilogy released by SF sooner rather than later. Like I said, they are clearly big fans of the franchise. Worth it to note the Halloween Films (and Elvira) were the only 4K releases that came in a rigid slipcase rather than a standard slipcover. If that doesn't tell you they have a thing for this franchise idk what will.

Based on literally nothing, breaking all previous standards by which SF does 4K titles. October will come and go with no DGG titles announced.

I never said they would for sure be released in October. All i ever said was that I can see it happening for October. You're the one thinking they know everything, but that's fine. I'll gladly refer back to your post when it gets announced.

I posted plenty of fact based evidence on why it most likely won't happen anytime soon, you just ignored it to suit your hopes of new editions, which I would also enjoy. You're speaking with your hopes rather than what makes the most financial sense for the company.
