I remember reading that SF was too, but they were having issues finding what they needed for a proper restoration.

Maybe Second Sight will have some luck.

It should be a huge win for the fans regardless of who releases it.

Shout Factory bought out the rights to that movie completely though? They're the ones currently trying to secure the OCN.

Brad from Terror-Vision has stated that Shout now have rights to Chopping Mall (1986). Unless the rights have changed, could this indicate a Lionsgate deal for them? That would be huge of course, and also work out well for SF since they on pace to upgrade most of their major Blu-rays already.

It's probably the case that the rights went to Shout Factory after Lionsgate's agreement lapsed - the film was produced by Corman's Concorde-New Horizons, and obviously Shout now own that catalogue.

Ah, I see, that makes sense. So the Vestron release will likely be going OOP then. Now to decide whether to get the Vestron release which has a nice set of extras, or wait for the potentially superior SF version

Chopping Mall has, arguably, one of the best transfers in the Vestron line. IIRC didn't they work from the OCN (or at least an IP)? In any case, I'll likely double dip if Shout comes out with a 4K since they'll also likely use the theatrical key art - very iconic for the film. Lionsgate is now double dipping into the Vestron line for reissues going by the Maximum Overdrive steelbook. A Chopping Mall SB would've sold very well.

I wouldn't mind a Silver Bullet 4k if they can swing it.

Maybe there'll be a Dawn of the Dead 4k/blu since you just got it.

Hey guys,

I ordered ‘The Burning’ with original poster to be shipped to stackry.com (with 2 other BluRays), they want to bill me for an 11lb item to dispatch the parcel, even though the actual package weighs 3lbs. The cheapest price for this shipment is $120.

Does this have something to do with how large the poster packaging is? Would asking Stackry to repackage the parcel change anything? If someone can take a picture of the poster casing Scream Factory use and post it on here, I’d appreciate it. I’m trying to gather more info at the moment before proceeding with the shipment.

Thank you.

The poster comes rolled in a plain cardboard tube (approx. 2" x 18"). If you want to see a picture of the tube you can search on Ebay and find a ton of them. Can't imagine how they figure it should cost $120 to ship.

The last time I ordered a Blu-ray with poster from Shout, the poster was rolled in an 18" tube, and the tube plus the Blu-ray were packed (with lots of stiff Shout paper) in a box 24"x10.5"x9".

Maybe the high shipping is because of the box's dimensions.

Rick

I believe I still have the box that my Friday the 13th set came in that fits your description if a picture is still required.

It was a good run while it lasted. Lots of great releases. You can pretty much call it a day on any NOES box set hopes as well.
