For whatever it's worth, Kino Lorber has confirmed that some of the Going OOP StudioCanal Hammer titles SF had are being picked up by them in their new SC deal, but they didn't say how many or (of course) which ones.

Is there a reason not to expect The Fly to obtain a 4K release? I'm only interested in that and the Vincent Price original (and yes, I know Price struggled to keep a straight face while making it).

Fox, so Disney, so at this point unlikely.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I can see Disney licensing it to Criterion for a 4K. Why not?

It’s already been stated multiple times this specifically occurred with Wall-e because director Andrew Stanton made it happen, and should not be taken as any change in current Disney policy. I hope they decide to change their tune in this especially with the Fox library since they have no real interest in doing anything with them at all.

"The First Omen" is releasing to theaters in April. I wouldn't be all that shocked to see at a minimum, a cheaper stripped down Omen set released (or possibly the now 13+ years old original fox set re-released) or possibly even a UHD of the first film this April to coincide with the release of the new film.

I don't believe Disney will just let all Fox title languish away, however I do believe that they will only be looking toward the heavy hitters for potential releases.

Disney already reissued the Fox Blu-ray set (without IV) a couple of years ago. I saw it in stores as recent as this past Halloween. It comes in a standard case instead of that flimsy digipack.

So I should definitely buy the Race With the Devil double feature because it’s a Fox/Disney property, but I can probably rest easy about Straight On Till Morning because it’s SC and thus available for KLSC to pick up?

I hope The First Omen will get a disc release. A lot of posts seem to imply Disney wouldn’t release a lot of films in physical format anymore.

I know several people have stated this. I personally very much doubt that these releases will be held indefinitely. There is still money to be made on physical and a demand. It's just too hard for me to believe that we will never see these titles ever again.....hope i'm right

Hope you are right broski, I really do.
The world deserves a 4K Blu-Ray set for Freaked (1993) & the other Fox Titles mentioned above too.

Damn, I always wanted to see a prequel of The Omen when the boy was still a fetus. Glad Hollywood are delivering us this very important part of the story.

On the Facebook page The Omen Online and Disciples of the Watch group there’s a post that links Twitter/ X stating a teaser trailer is coming out very soon, possibly this coming week.

The trailer will just be a fetal ultrasound.

I used to love Scream Factory as being my #1 favorite boutique label. I have well over 150 SF blu's (not including all the box sets by them) and I'm a huge horror fan. However, to say that I've become disenchanted and disappointed in them over the last few years is an understatement.

It seems their priority these days is in re-releasing their licensed content on 4k for films they've already previously released on blu. If I don't already own it, I'll consider purchasing it once their prices become reasonable ($34.99+ for a single film is not unless it's a top ten film I want to own), but if I've already purchased the blu from them for a film (in already spending entirely too much money, especially for some of the rarer OOP stuff I really wanted and had to acquire it from scalpers on the market) there's no way I'm ever going to double dip for a slightly improved picture and sound quality to re-spend another $30+ when I already spent $25+ to own it in the first place on blu. Then they want to throw in some cheap pins/stickers and have me spend another $30 on top of that? Absolutely not. Just give me the film.

Sorry, SF, but you aren't going to double dip from my wallet, especially in overcharging for the double dip on top of that. While I greatly appreciate what you've provided to me for my collection in the past, it seems there is less and less you are releasing that has any interest to me as most of what you are releasing now are just re-releases from blu to 4k. No thanks.

Vinegar Syndrome and Terror Vision have become my two favorite boutique labels. And, while I'll always love my SF collection, and will no doubt add some to it on increasingly rarer occasions, I am saddened at what has become of my once most favorite label.

The Brits spell 'fetus' better than we do in America; over there is 'foetus' and 'foetal'.

That is surprising. I had all but forgotten about the previous release after SF announced their edition as it's one of the rare King films I hadn't yet picked up and I was certain that the SF release would be the one to own. No new scan though leaves me thinking that whichever is cheaper will be the way to go and that isn't likely going to be the SR edition.

I do wonder if Thinner will be similar to Scream's release of Team America World Police where the 4k scan wasn't initially mentioned when they announced the extras.

Course it could be this is from a older scan, but it does make me wonder.
