Not sure about Shout but I ordered it from Bull Moose last week and it had a slip. It's also five bucks cheaper than Shout right now.

I work in the industry, and the answer is they're where the money comes from.

Generally these days getting an executive producer credit means they helped fund the project, and can make profit off the back end of a film's release after it recoups its budget. (But sometimes EPs simply own the IP and don't contirbute money or were involved in the development process at some point before removing themselves from the project.)

That's why a lot of indie films have a ridiculous amount of EPs because the lead producer had to cobble together the budget from multiple backers.

EPs usually aren't getting a paycheck during production and thus contributing to a film's budget. Or do they actually set foot on the film set during production.

A good example of this is Paul Schrader's THE CARD COUNTER, a fully independent production which was filmed here in Mississippi. Around 30 EPs, including Martin Scorsese, who to my knowledge never actually set foot in the state.

hopefully this Amazon sale is not taking place of the Feb Scream factory sale this year. While my wallet hopes so, personally I hope we get the sale this week.

I see that on a lot of movies and games. Kind of mind-numbing knowing that it says that, knowing that the returns are probably because of damage from Amazon shipping, and not defective products or someone just not wanting it in most instances. Not counting scratched discs from SF.

I always had to return stuff back to Amazon. Every five things I bought three or four things would get sent back. It's nuts. I've even literally been purposely sent shit that was destroyed, obviously not during shipping because it's half open too. I wish the worst for Bezos and Amazon. A true cancer to the planet. Good thing about places like Best Buy where you can walk in and see what you're buying before you get it. Oh wait.....

Avoid Amazon as much as possible, unless they greatly benefit me financially.

I never had issues until this past october. Had a blu ray case literally be crushed and then last month they sent me a PAL disc for a mainstream movie in the US when i ordered the US disc. It was crazy to see the amount off stuff piled up at the UPS store for the amazon returns.

Got my Weird UHD from Target's get 1 50% off sale yesterday.

No scratches and the slipcover was pretty much mint despite being glued into a card envelope.

Watched it last night with friends and no playback issues or anything that knocked me out of the film.

Looking forward to the extras. I already had the Australian release but haven't compared them yet.

Edit: oops this probably doesn't belong in the Scream thread; more like the Select, no wait, Studios....

Yeah it used to not be that bad. I'd return something maybe once a month at worst, but it's almost half the stuff I get, goes back at least, when I used them more often. I'll even just do a swap and the new one that comes is just as bad or worse. I tried getting a diversion safe once to put some keys in, and I had to send it back and get three different ones because they kept putting it in a paper mailer and kept getting crushed. After the fourth time, they gave up and just refunded me.

Worst of all, I was a Prime member, so I was paying a premium to get treated like this. You'd think they'd be better to Prime members. Nope. Cancer to the planet it all is.

This would be a perfect choice for the first Hammer 4K.

Amazon is an "evil corporation" but only when it concerns pricey physical media or anything with some weight on it. I use AMZ pretty much on a daily basis for everyday items. I'm done shopping in stores. Had enough of the long lines, rude people and not finding what I'm looking for. And with places like Target now locking toiletries behind glass enclosures, I have less reasons to venture into a B&M. I even purchase underwear online now. Couldn't live without AMZ.

Ooh might need to see this finally pick up some Scream Factory films I don't own yet I'm obviously picking up Crimewave, and Let's Scare Jessica to death next week along with Dead End Drive In from arrow which is out of print but has been a film on my list I have wanted to watch for a long time. Thankfully Dead End Drive In is still available to buy for 14 dollars. Also there's a good deal on Deadly Friend might pick that up too been wanting to watch it so bad but I might wait on one of these probably if I have to guess let's scare Jessica to death.

We are almost wholly buying things including groceries online......but NOT Amazon.

Tried Amazon Fresh, horrible experience, there are better local delivery operations, many of them sourcing local farmers.

Amazon gained market share by pricing their competition out of business, but now they've killed off the competition, they are not competitive, far from it. For books, B&N or a local bookstore will sell you a book that does not look like it's been used as a soccer ball in the warehouse. For other things, they are usually overpriced tat cheaply produced (probably by slave labor) in China. Amazon Marketplace looks largely like a dumping ground for cheaply made cr*p from China. My impression is that Amazon's target customer is the non-discerning buyer who will basically accept whatever price Amazon offers them without doing any comparison shopping. Certainly that seems to be what Amazon Marketplace sellers think.

For Blu Rays, sales direct from the labels (or these days some of the boutique stores, like Orbit last year) are the way to go. Amazon prices going up and down like a hoor's knickers are just tiresome to watch, they are really playing with customer FOMO. Look at the historical prices using camelcamelcamel and you'll see how these price fluctuations are just obscuring how they've jacked up their prices....and before anyone says "supply chain," those problems were fixed at least a year ago.

I'm fairly sure this is still in print. It's still available and listed on Arrow's website, usually they remove listings for out of print titles.

I ordered Bride of Chucky in the sale, and it came yesterday. The slip was slightly scuffed, but had crisp corners and was actually better than any of the ones I'd passed over at Best Buy. However, one of the discs was loose inside, and you're not going to believe it but
[Show spoiler]neither the blu-ray nor the 4k disc were scratched at all
.

Or are they licend out to somebody else or nobody is interested in these kind of movies.
