If you spend $100, they're offering a choice from a selection of free films, including the Pirahna and Happy Deathday to Me limited edition sets.

Is that advertised anywhere? Can't seem to find details about it.

edit: I see the free gift offer in the shopping cart. That's pretty great about those two LE sets being included.

If you need free shipping, I recommend adding Hell Hole at $9.99 or Final Terror at $10.99. Both are excellent 80s horror.

If you need a little more to get there, the $17.99 double feature of Naked Vengeance/Vendetta is a nice double feature for a revenge film and a WIP.

There are hundreds of films available to license from Toei with HD scans that probably will never see the light of day, so again, I'll take it how I can, so pretty happy with this set.
Thing is it isn't an either or situation. Those Tokusatsu titles are right up Discotek's alley. I'm sure if Shout hadn't scooped them up, Discotek would have.

Maybe, or maybe not. Even then, they probably wouldn't go for all of those titles and if they did, we are looking at $20 title, which would be more than this set.

Outside of Amazon, Discotek titles don't sell at a lot of online retailers. I think Crunchyroll is the only other spot to really find them?

I have no issue with the site exclusives with Shout, but if I lived outside of the US? Then it probably would be a different story.

In this instance, you are right about the price. But they wouldn't be limited and, frankly one of my biggest issues with Shout's site exclusives, is the random dropping of them. Makes it harder to budget for them. I hate that. If they would announce them a month or two before release date, that would mitigate a lot of issues I have with their release strategy.

Sure. I completely agree that this should be a wide release as these are some good films, but again, it's not a deal breaker for me in the slightest if it's a site exclusive.

I could see 88 Films or Eureka doing a similar box set for those films, and they might have put a little more care into than Shout. Probably not the current Arrow, they seem more focused on higher profile films now. Discotek doesn't really do film box sets, and with many of these films barely being a hour long they might not be worth the costs to do individually.

I feel for the international fans who aren't able to buy the release, and there could very well still be a UK release later from another label.

I do hate Shout's limited releases though. I would have taken a MOD program over a movie selling out and remaining OOP for years. They licensed some stuff out to Ronin Flix and you can still easily buy those despite a lower print run. There are better strategies but I guess the FOMO gets money quicker.

The quantity remaining feature has been removed from the site. Probably to continue to feed the FOMO since they can better hide the fact when titles aren’t selling well. I really appreciated it while it was there so I could budget purchases better (no need to rush and buy a title that’s not selling)

So they added it to create FOMO, and now took it away to create even more FOMO? People need to stop with these ridiculous theories

Amazing the amount of childish people that ALL know how to run businesses perfectly, always making comments and complaining about everything these companies do. Meanwhile they probably can't tie their shoes

Of all the things people get bent out of shape for, complaining about what other people opine on a message forum has got to be one of the most pointless.

Unlawful Entry is back in stock for anyone who missed out. Can also pair it with the sale going on now, if you want:

Probably not for another two weeks I would imagine. They usually leak a few days before the actual reveals which usually happen at the start of the month.

I snagged Unlawful Entry. Unfortunately my sale order shipped so fast it's already on its way. I think they knew what they were doing, rushed out early orders before UE restocked, so as to entice a 2nd order. And I didn't want to pay for shipping, so I added 2 more titles. They got me.
