Hey, not if you're Vinegar Syndrome. If you count slasher-adjacent films, you could add another 200-300 to the list! Then you could expand further to 80s-adjacent films, and the possibilities are endless.

Ok, that's a lot. Not sure how many would actually be worth buying, but still I'd like to see any many new to BD films as possible.

If they keep shuffling Japanese titles off as bs site exclusives, I hope they do abandon Japanese films.

The site exclusives aspect never bothered me personally. Yes, I would love to see these films get wider releases, but if it comes down to getting these films in a very limited capacity, or not at all, I'll take limited. My priority is always just having the films in HD on disc, and I know priorities are different for everyone.

There are hundreds of films available to license from Toei with HD scans that probably will never see the light of day, so again, I'll take it how I can, so pretty happy with this set.

Having these films available in HD should be the focus and not the fact that they're a site exclusive. I can't figure out the mindset of "if it's going to be a site exclusive, I'd rather not have it at all." Duke is absolutely correct here.

Is Shout finished with the Corman releases? It seems like I haven't seen a Corman site exclusive in quite a while.

So you’d rather not have them at all? I’ll take site exclusive any day of the week vs never getting them. I’m sure there are reasons why they do them like that.

For this set and Samurai Resurrection, it's doubtful anyone else would have released them so I'm happy they're being released at all (even tho they're expensive and barebones). But for Deadly Outlaw Rekka, I could totally see a label like Discotek or Film Movement picking it up, and I would have preferred that.

Man does Screamers ever fall to a good price? $18 for this sale isn't great...

Regarding that Letterboxd list of every 80s shlasher film (I can't find the original post), it's an interesting list, but some of those films, like The Children and The Fog, don't strike me as slasher movies by even the loosest definition. It's all semantics, though.

That licensing deal for Big Trouble In Little China must've been really long term. Surprised they're still selling it.

Can't believe there is still no 4K of this one. Maybe this is the year...?

It's in the Going OOP / While Supplies last list, along with the other Fox itles like The Fly and Omen Collections.

The store exclusives that are down to $19.99 are probably the best deals in the sale since you never know if/when they will drop that low again unlike most of the other stuff here.
