I was looking around on amazon earlier adding spooky movies to my wishlist for future purchases around Halloween and noticed that just about every Shout/Scream title has a disclaimer about being frequently returned. I assume it is because of scratched discs, at what point does Shout Factory wise up?

They are due for a box set sale sometime here in April. Also, last year in May (15th-19th) they did a 50% off sale for 4K UHDs. My want list is getting pretty short so I wouldn't mind clearing all of them off with some great sales.

As pointed out by Zygmunt22 here, Paramount titles are starting to appear on the 'Going Out of Print' list, namely:

Graveyard Shift
Orca
The Tenant
Danger: Diabolik

These Paramount licences must only be 4-5 years. Of course there's a chance some of these end up getting other (4K) releases from other labels (Kino, VS and Arrow), but you can never be sure in every case.

Took a risk and ordered JFK 4K, The Dead Zone 4K and Lifeforce 4K from Amazon (paid 160 bucks for them including shipping and custom fees, importing to Europe). All were scratch free! Blu-ray disc of The Dead Zone had some small dirt spot on it. Let's see if I can remove it.

So unfortunately seeing as it now is gone and never had a sale price, even after doubling the print run, the best option for that release was indeed to pay the $30.

Thankfully unless they haven't picked up on it yet, The Getaway is selling at a far more reasonable pace.

Thanks Jarrod. I just placed an order for both. These should be wide releases, but we all know what game is being played.

I have the German Import of The Getaway so I'll see how it compares.

I also see the wisdom in your post Rayjg... I always jump on orders that are limited. But waiting a bit isn't a bad idea either. Then again, there's only about 1,600 copies of Death and the Maiden (until they "raise" the limit again) so who knows how long it'll last. It isn't necessarily a film with a huge following.

Anchor Bay, not new Anchor Bay but old Anchor Bay. They are coming back just to release this one movie in a multi-pack set that has a VHS, laser disc, dvd, bluray, 4k and PSP disc.

Both are free on Tubi, so that's nice. I've seen Getaway a bunch of times, so I will probably pick it up. Will wait for one of you to get your copy and post the quality. If it's garbage, free on Tubi it is. I do not remember the Maiden film, so Tubi is perfect for that one of these days. As usual, nice to see some new to blu titles. But the prices from Shout continue to deter. Hopefully this batch is of good quality.
