You know what else Scream Factory could do for October now that I think about; a Hellraiser V-VIII set to tie-in with Arrow's US Quartet of Torment set.

Same with Cinedigm releasing Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser I and II.

They're typically on a Monday around the first of the month, so unless they buck the trend, either tomorrow or August 5th.

Unless they changed their minds, they'll be making the announcement tomorrow.

I'm probably one of the few not expecting much since 2023's october slate while still kinda good, felt weak in comparison to 2021's and 2022's. Also because overall this year's shout selections have felt underwhelming. They really peaked and used all their biggest hits in 2022.

Yeah as much as I want some long awaited titles for the first time on Blu-Ray, and 4K UHD I only think Night of the Creeps is the only big long awaited 4K UHD title getting announced.

Coming in October

George A. Romero's Land of the Dead (2005) 4K UHD (Collector's Edition)

Death Becomes Her (1992) 4K UHD (Collector's Edition)

Drag Me to Hell (2009) 4K UHD (Collector's Edition)

Wes Craven's Shocker (1989) 4K UHD (Collector's Edition)

The Wolfman (2010) 4K UHD (Collector's Edition)

Devil (2010) 4K UHD

As Above, So Below (2014) Collector's Edition Blu-ray

Plus a wide release of The Blob 4K Steelbook. There may be others, but so far that's what I've found.

I'm underwhelmed, but Death Becomes Her is a necessary and welcome upgrade.

Thanks MifuneFan.

Land of the Dead is the major one in the bunch in my opinion, but Death Becomes Her should be popular too. I've never seen The Wollfman (2010), but it seems to have a following. I do feel like there should be maybe one or two more titles though, so hopefully we see another one pop up.

One more just popped up:

As Above, So Below (2014) Collector's Edition Blu-ray

Back Cover indicates new interviews with the director/writer, and producer. I actually really enjoy this one. Saw it twice now, and I love the Paris catacombs setting.

Meh. So 2 4K upgrades. Not sure about this Shout Factory Insider...

I'm happy about The Wolfman, so long as the Unrated version is in 4K. On recent form I'm not hopeful.

It would be rather strange for someone without knowledge to know exactly when a Steelbook sale was going to happen, no? I wouldn't be surprised if they saw the list and just saw Land of the Dead as a Scream upgrade, but overlooked Death Becomes Her as one.

Yeah that's probably the most likely scenario in all fairness.

Just Land of the Dead for me. Bummer.

Someone needs to find a negative for Day of the Dead. To have 3 of the 4 in 4K is crazy.

Drag Me to Hell makes three now. I would still find it odd that they predicted the Steelbook sale, but they were definitely off about how many upgrades were coming, so I guess we'll have to see what else they say going forward.

Land Of The Dead, Wolfman, and Drag Me To Hell all had both rated and Unrated versions. Wonder which cut we'll get for the 4Ks?

Wolfman does say 3-discs, so maybe both?

With 3 discs, it's usually either one or the other. I'm guessing The Wolfman probably has the worst chance of the 3, since the additions to that were quite extensive (it's about 16 minutes longer than the TC).
