Hahaha based on what they’ve been releasing recently do you really think there’s any chance of this 🤣

There's plenty of significant difference with many modern films. If there's a commercially available 4k over a blu, that's what I go for. Godzilla vs Kong, Godzilla 2014, any of the post 2010 Planet Of the apes films, Pacific Rim, the Avatar films. Even with CGI being finished in 2k, stuff is being shot in native 4k or higher, I want as close to that fidelity on a UHD as possible. Blu ray has a max bitrate of 40 mbps, and no hdr/Dolby vision, not to mention atmos and better sound options. It'd be foolish to invest in a large screen 4k setup and only buy blus of modern films just because they're shot digitally. With UHD you get basically theatrical quality and none of the grain of shot on film stuff.

Gonna be annoyed if the land of the dead 4k is theatrical cut only.

Yawn I have 0 interest in any of these 4K UHD titles I’m out what a boring, lame, underwhelming slate from Scream Factory. At least Arrow Video is releasing some new stuff with that nice J horror set, and a highly requested 4K UHD with Trick ‘R Treat in 4K UHD.

I prefer how Criterion handles upgrades: 75% new titles every month with 25% upgrades, typically. Scream/Shout has seemingly gone all in on re-releases and the titles that are new to the label like As Above, So Below already have representation on the format.

Meh, 4k upgrades do not excite me, especially from Shout. I might get Land but if its not unrated forget it.

Most if not all of the scream leadership left and it's pretty clear that they're in maintenance mode. Most of the never on blu stuff people really want aren't just easy universal/mgm/paramount licenses which is what scream has always been about since the beginning. Lots of labels are still doing new stuff, so I'm fine with scream just quietly doing 4ks of decent studio titles.

this might seem like a shock, but these are all very popular titles that are being rereleased. it is more expensive to produce UHD. this is a business. there is always someone who thinks they are smart and cries about how they wish we would get things “new to the format.”

you mention the arrow set, but those are six movies that wouldnt sell on their own. subtitles releases dont really sell as well for some reason. (lazy people who dont want to read or arent smart and cant read and watch at the same time)

I'd like The Shadow to be upgraded to 4K.

Near Dark seems to have gone out of print, so I'd like at least a nice bluray of that, maybe package the Lionsgate deal in with The Spirit for synergy with The Shadow.

For a Halloween month lineup from Shout this is super weak. Nothing but upgrades fron Universal titles which can be found in the 3 dollar bargain bin.

I’m double dipping enough as is but I’m not gonna rebuy all these.
Maybe Wolfman for the artwork, but tops.

Considering how many unreleased movies have never seen a Blu-ray release
makes this lineup even more disappointing.

Same goes for Arrow in October. All re-releases of titles we’ve already had
before.
C’mon, it’s October!! It’s Halloween season and there is soooo much lost potential here!
