I was expecting more for an October slate, but Death Becomes Her and Drag Me To Hell are favorites. Upgrading those to 4K is a no-brainer for me.

My wishlist includes zero upgrades of remakes/reboots or reissues of modern horror films I'm already happy with. They're going through the remake gamut right now so there will be more for sure. At least my wallet will be happy

I've said it before: I'm not against upgrades. In fact, I welcome them, just not interested in double dipping newer films. Shout apparently let a lot of older stuff go to Kino and that's who will get my money. I mean, they let Kino have April Fool's Day!?! They'd rather release forgettable junk like Orphan or Ouija or the Amityville remake.

My original reply was in response to bhankins, who asked: "Do you think they will announce October releases before this sale ends? Hoping not to get something that is later upgraded to 4k."

I took this as bhankins wanting to know if any titles in the unstreamable sale were going to have upgrades announced Monday because they didn't want to double-dip.

The only title in the unstreamable sale that had an upgrade coming was Shocker, hence my reply.

Since I never bothered to pick up Scream's Blu-rays of Drag Me To Hell and Land of the Dead, the Universal Blu-rays were fine, I'll probably pick those up. Shocker too as I never bothered to upgrade from the DVD.

And to put any of the bizarre conspiracies to bed once and for all, we're having a brief Going OOP sale starting Thursday, the day after the Unstreamable Sale ends.

Really nice release slate. Glad I held off on getting the blu ray of Shocker and Land of the Dead. Devil has been out of print on blu ray for a while, and The Wolfman is gonna look fantastic on 4k. I'll be picking up everything. Like to see Scream get ahold of 30 Days of Night at some point in the near future.

You’ll get it for lots cheaper the Kino route too.

These days I prefer when Shout/Scream doesn’t get something I want.

I only want Shocker as I didn’t pick up the Blu-Ray previously the rest of these titles I have 0 interest in buying. This slates just awful I’m glad Kino’s getting a lot of the stuff Shout! Factory has no interest in putting out on 4K UHD including April Fools Day. I knew my wishlist was too good to be true this is modern Shout! Factory after all. I really wish we had gotten that Carnosaur box set, or heck even Night of the Creeps in 4K UHD sadly we didn’t get either of those this time. This lineup just plain sucks so so much, and I’m super disappointed and underwhelmed by most of these titles.

In for The Wolfman and Devil for sure. Never got the original blu releases, so win for me!

If Death Becomes Her has some new special features and has a reversible cover, then I might upgrade.

You know, this would have been a pretty decent slate of new Scream Factory announcements for any month of the year other than October.
However, considering how all of this is intended and scheduled for Halloween-time, there's nothing overly exciting or impressive here.
I was really expecting Shout! Factory to bring out some "heavy hitters" and "hidden gems" for the Samhain season but apparently not, "sad to say."
Don't get me wrong though, there's definitely some titles that I'll be purchasing... at least eventually... I guess.

Always game for some more Wes Craven on 4K UHD.
At least Shocker (1989) has a rockin' soundtrack!

I know right. Pages and pages of wishlists and they drop the same ole same ole they’ve been releasing for over ten years now. People complain about Criterion but at least they drop some evergreens every so often that people always clamour for.

Probably a better chance of Rerelease Factory making The Devils a site exclusive for October

Speaking of Death Becomes Her, Shout has broken the tradition of putting original poster art on the slipcover. I do like the new art, tho.

So The Hitcher was not announced. I wonder which company will release the US version that delayed the Second Sight announcement and when it will be released.
