You watched 30 days of night...in August? Seasonal movies stay seasonal for me, that's a Nov-March watch only. Also, they better not. I finally picked up the blu for under $5 within the past year. I don't buy blus I think might get a 4k.

Well I’ve been wanting to watch it since I saw Night Country to wash the terrible taste out of my mouth. I bought the Blu-ray off Amazon and it took me awhile to get around to watching it. It’ll probably be in my winter rotation going forward.

Please Scream Factory, keep the Hammer 4K streak going. Kino announced Scars of Dracula (1970) a few days ago. You’ve got three Hammers with 4K masters:

Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
The Evil of Frankenstein (1964)
The Vampire Lovers (1970)

They’re all previous Collector’s Editions and you know how you like to upgrade Collector’s Editions to 4K editions. One would do for now.

I don’t know who I’m addressing this request to, since Cliff M. is long gone, but Hammer fans unite and let SF know we want more Hammer on 4K.

I wouldn't turn down a fresh scan of the Stepfather remake.

Any Canadians know why some titles are widely available to us while other aren't?

For example, The Boy 4K and Stepfather 4K are not on Amazon.ca or Unobstructed View, where as Village of the Damned and Amityville Horror from the same month are.

I know it's sometimes because the rights in Canada are with a different studio/label than the US one, so they are only able to get US rights.

As far as those two titles go, I'm not sure. Shout's website is usually a good indicator of whether they have US and Canadian rights, and both do say "Available in: US & Canada", so they should be available there. The Stepfather was released on BD in Canada by SF too, so it really shouldn't be a rights issue in this case. You might need to reach out to Shout, or UV and ask what the issue is.

Holy **** no wonder this took longer to reveal the extras for compared to the other October Titles.

Fantastic News all around!!!

Edit: I noticed something about that New Documentary.

Here’s a list of the Via Vision extras, along with the participants listed in this new documentary from Shout!.

Via Vision Extras:
“Editing Drag Me to Hell" 2023 interview with
editor Bob Murawski (10:59)
"Channeling Drag Me to Hell" 2023 interview with
actor Dileep Rao (14:30)
"Designing Drag Me to Hell" 2023 interview with
production designer Steve Saklad (23:16)
"Illustrating Drag Me to Hell" 2023 interview with
Storyboard Artist/Props Christian Cordella (14:15)
"Scoring Drag Me to Hell" 2023 interview with
composer Christopher Young (21:48)

Scream Factory Doc Participants:
NEW "Pardon My Curse: Making Drag Me To Hell" -- Extensive Behind-The-Scenes Documentary Featuring New And Archival Interviews With Co-Writer/Producer Ivan Raimi, Actors Alison Lohman, Dileep Rao And Lorna Raver, Director Of Photography Peter Deming, Production Designer Steve Saklad, Artist Christian Cordella, Make-Up Effects Designer Greg Nicotero, Editor Bob Murawski, Composer Christopher Young, And More!

When the 4K comes out, if somebody with both of these releases can compare the interviews between them to see if they are genuinely different or if they are the same ones just re-edited to fit a documentary format, that would be greatly appreciated. If that’s what happened here I don’t mind at all.

Making the pain of having bought the shout blu ray last year even more painful. At least it technically helped make this possible and I'll definitely pick it up eventually.

Forgive my stupidity, but why do they feel they can contain the two cuts on one 4K disc but not one regular Blu-ray? Are they not using seamless branching?

I imagine it's because they were planning to include 2 BD's anyway, since the new documentary is 2 hours long, so they figured they might as well split the cuts up too.

Ya know what I would love to see, Shout Factory getting streaming rights and physical distribution rights to Sasuke/Ninja Warrior and Takeshi's Castle original. I know Discotek got MXC but thats different (will still get it). But I use to remember watching Sasuke on G4 back when I was younger. I think that was my first subtitled foreign thing ever, even before Naruto and Gx Season 4. I think I was like 12 at the time

Hopefully. I’ve never heard of Hush, though. Must be a real masterpiece since it’s getting universal praise.
