Well yeah I collect movies from all sorts of labels. This isn’t sports. You don't have to only collect from 1 label.

My entire point is SF is dead. I mean come on 2 out of the 4 releases are re-re-releases just with different packaging. Those shouldn’t even be announcements they should just be regular releases to go along with whatever else new titles of the month are. But they don’t have any so this is what they do now.

Ok what are they? Are they with companies that Shout has a deal with? If they are, are they movies Shout has permission to release? Are these movies going to sell better than what they’ve announced?

Honeymoon Horror
Cheerleader Camp
Return to Horror High
ICED
The list is long so I’ll say that I’ll take just about any unreleased 80’s slasher.

I wouldn’t even mind some 4K upgrades of some old blu rays for stuff like
Frailty
The Faculty (still waiting for that announcement)
Sleepaway Camp and the sequels
IT mini-series
Day of the Dead
How about a Scream Box set soimilar to the Halloween/Friday the 13th sets?

And how about some TV series. I would love a blu ray collection of the Are You Afraid of the Dark? Nickelodeon series. And of course Tales From the Crypt (yes I am aware of the rights issues with that one)

Like I said, I could go on and on, but I’d rather not sit here all day doing that.

Yeah same. I'm really excited for that one. Stephen Chow films are pretty crazy too, so that's even more insanity for the month.

i completely second this; very few movies worth getting lately from scream. there’s so much untapped potential yet that go for garbage or rereleases… as of right now Vinegar Syndrome and Arrow are running victory laps around them

Hey I still think Scream Factory is strong, it's just they have released so many great titles the pickings are slim now. As far as content as a whole and gems, I would say Scream Factory wins easily, with Vinegar Syndrome second. But to be honest, Vinegar Syndrome has drastically fallen imo, they used to have tons of great horror, now it's mostly awful stuff or a minor gem here or there. These are all my opinions btw, but no one ever really criticizes Vinegar Syndrome, instead I see tons of trashing of Scream Factory. I've seen people hoping it goes down, pretty sad.

Seems like some people come in here just to hate and whine about every new Scream Factory release. Why? I get it people have opinions, but I see a few people in here mocking someone because they said it's a great month. I really don't understand it, why even support a company you hate so much? Makes zero sense.

I actually thought this was a great month. 11 new titles to my collection is a lot, so yeah, that's pretty amazing.

I couldn’t care less what label releases stuff. The important thing is the titles themselves. Like I said earlier, this isn’t a sport. I hold no loyalty to any 1 label. There may be certain release styles I prefer like VS style slips or Arrow Video hard Boxes for their LE’s…etc. but that’s about it.

When SF/VS announce titles, for every 10 people, there are going to be at least 2 people that are happy. Good for them I say, and I mean that.

But if I am being honest, I haven't been too impressed with SF or VS lately either. Lots of upgrades, with Code Red catalogue mining going on. Not a completely bad thing, but very boring.

Count me in the camp that wants new to disc, exciting stuff. ICED, Campfire Tales, stuff that never made the jump from VHS/DVD etc. Mix it up. Give us some 80s sex comedies, erotic thrillers, 90s US kickboxing films, new to disc horror. Something with balls! These labels can get never on disc stuff out if they choose. If FCE can release 2 never on disc titles in the space of 6 months, SF sure as hell can. Reeks of laziness to me.

Only so many upgrades and same re-hashes you can take in this life.

Personally, I've been much more impressed by overseas labels like Second Sight and Umbrella. Maybe I've become one of Bill Olsen's oversea label terrorist (was that moniker reserved for customers or labels?). They've gone after films no US label seems interested in and have created some fairly lavish collector's sets. Imprint is another, although I've not been too happy about their policy of accepting older masters for their Blu-rays. That seems to be changing now so good for them. I just ordered their NeverEnding Story book replica, which looks to be impressive as heck. Anyway, I don't want to derail this thread but suffice to say I've needed to look elsewhere for announcements.

Personally, I'm all for upgrades of any film, but also want a balance with unreleased stuff. I'd love for Scream Factory to put out new restorations of Rabid, Day of the Dead, or Serpent and the Rainbow, but I also want stuff like Blair Witch Project Part II, Stepford Wives, or Day of the Triffids. Problem is a lot of the tittles I want seemed to be out of reach for any company. Loved the Oct. slate, not interested in the November one.
