Another sale to add to the calendar. Not complaining though as I have a Shout titles want list (keeping it short and sensible).

As for the December titles, am interested in The Gift and Rock 'n' Roll High School (was thinking The Gift was coming from Arrow in the States, so that's been a good surprise today (kept out of this and the Arrow threads for a couple of nights this week as I didn't want to see any mentions of leaked Arrow titles).

Been hoping for a Shout physical media release of a TV series from a few decades ago, and a TV boxsets sale where Dragnet and Sisters are included.

Also like the idea of buying a cheap one to pop extra slipcovers on that usually don’t have anywhere to go!

I requested disc replacements due to several discs being scratched from a sale, which affected both 4Ks and Blu-rays.

It wasn’t my first time encountering this. Trick 'r Treat was the first. (So it has been a while)

They asked for photos, and I understood that, but I quickly realized how difficult it is to properly focus the camera to capture some of the scratches.
If you focus on one part, the other scratches don’t show, and photographing all the discs took time.

Some discs had bubbles as if it was delaminating and some looked like they had been buffed by a sheet of 1200 grit sandpaper.

After sending all the requested photos and confirming that playback was indeed affected, they asked for videos because of the number of discs I reported as scratched and having playback errors.
I was annoyed but stayed polite. I explained that it wasn’t good customer service to require the customer to provide video evidence in addition to photos.

Why couldn't they provide a return shipping label, so I could return the discs and let them verify the scratches and playback issues themselves?

They refused to replace the discs without the videos but offered a refund if I returned them, which I accepted.

I think their issue is that their responses aren’t particularly professional.
They often publicly call out the customer on TrustPilot.
While I’m sure some people can be ridiculous, I assure you, I was not one of them.
Not only are they unprofessional in email responses, and outright dismissive of any wrongdoing or accountability (despite glaring patterns of customer dissatisfaction) on TrustPilot, they also log any customer service interaction on their end as an indication of "problematic behavior," so they can defensively cite any reasonable request made to them back to their customers and re-frame them in email, or publicly, via TrustPilot, as though said requests were abnormal, egregious, or somehow outside the parameters of rote customer service to which most other boutique labels generally, uncontroversially adhere.

And, as I'm sure most users of this forum are aware of by now, they'll also arbitrarily ban (or "blacklist," as they like to call it) customers from purchasing directly from their webstore, sans warning or notification--there was a Reddit thread from a couple months ago from a user who requested a replacement for a scratched disc, was denied a replacement, and who then discovered, when they attempted to make their next purchase from Shout!, that they'd been blacklisted as a result of that single exchange with customer service.

As you've emphasized, rationally and precisely, buyer beware.

Awesome to see the company posting on this forum, thank you for finally giving us Hush and in 4K no less. Please don’t let the haters of Shout run you out of here like they did Cliff.

Companies don't "blacklist" customers based on a single interaction, even if the customer wasn't polite. Certain people may get "red flagged" but I don't buy that they outright ban them. Someone would have to be a serial "returner" (want replacements for the smallest of dings on a slipcover) or habitual complainer for them to get red flagged. You take advantage of a business at your own risk.

Afterpay is through a third party financial institution, similar to PayPal Credit, where as PayPal Pay in 4 is directly with PayPal.

Maybe you can shed some light on this... Gruv.com (SDS) sells SF releases on their website as well as on eBay, but their eBay pricing is $7-8 more on eBay than on Gruv.com. Why, as this seems SF specific... as Gruv seems to list the same price for every other studio on both Gruv and eBay? Their eBay pricing is more than the prices listed directly on the Shout Factory web site.

Also, will Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal eventually receive separate 4K stand alone releases without all of the swag? I'd prefer just the 4K release and leave the swag for those that really want it.

SF just sent out an email announcing the sale of empty Blu-ray and 4K cases on their site. 1-disc cases are $2.99 each, and 2-disc ones are $3.99.

I honestly do need some new cases so I'll probably grab a few during the sale. I miss casetopia.

I just bought a few of their cases. The days of finding good quality cases for sale in local video stores are a thing of the past.

I wish they'd also sale multi disc cases (3,4,6,8). I could use some of those too.

Now The single disc cases cost 70 cents each and the Single blu-ray cases cost The same price and again you have to buy 100 of them. But still, that’s a heck of a lot better deal than what Shout! Buying 100 isn't too bad? That's a ton of excess cases that will take up a ton of room, I'd only need a few.

2-disc 4K cases are .99 cents cheaper at Vinegar Syndrome but currently out of stock.
