They shipped my 4 title sitewide sale order in a damn padded envelope and 2 of my slipcovers have damage at the corners and along top edges. What the hell? Is this a new/recent thing not using a box if you don't order enough titles? This is shitty.

Ugh I just ordered 3 new titles that I should get today and I hope they didn’t ship them in a padded envelope.

I’m watching the new Silent Night 4K with the new commentary, the PQ is unreal.

Scream Factory has had a Universal deal since day one. Their first releases were Halloween II and III.
Arrow already released the Last House remake on 4K.
If it's a recent movie that Universal didn't give a 4K release, then there's a good chance SF will tackle it.

one of my BF orders came in a bubble mailer a couple of days ago, thankfully the slips weren't damaged

Watched The Faculty last night and thought it looked and sounded fantastic. Blows the blu away IMO. My 4K disc was not a floater, yet it still had a scratch. It skipped on the first play, then I went back to the spot when the credits rolled and it didn't skip in the spot. Just getting messed with now from Scream. Sucks that this issue is STILL ongoing. Shout Factory insider, please have someone address this garbage once and for all, as it's beyond ridiculous at this point.

I don't really care about the shipping method that much and I'm not one to worry about a creased slipcover - but since it's a topic of conversation - my FACULTY 4k arrived from Amazon in a comically huge box and the case itself was enclosed in cardboard "holder" so it wouldn't shift around. I'd never seen this before. Usually my blurays arrive in a bubble wrap or small box (without said "holder"). Seemed to work great since my slipcover was pristine. (although overkill with the size of the box)

Sounds similar to what Steelbooks would ship in from Europe, at least back in the day. But they used to ship items like this long ago:

For anyone curious about Robert Rodriguez's lack of involvement with The Faculty's extras, it wasn't without trying. These comments were found in a video review embedded in this post by MovieGuy999.

Comments are from Daniel Griffith of Ballyhoo Motion Pictures:

As the producer of the bonus materials for this release, I can tell you that RR did not wish to be involved on-camera or provide an audio commentary for this film. His offices did approve the content of the features... which all I can say about that.
@RobertQuant 23 hours ago
That’s weird for Robert Rodriguez do deny this movie is one of his best films why didn’t he do new interviews is confusing knowing he did a lot for the Mexico trilogy I guess he’s not to happy about this movie he’s going to regret it
@BallyhooMotionPics 5 hours ago
@RobertQuant I am not sure, to be honest. I was ready to fly to Austin to film the interview, if he agreed. I asked more than once.

Been lurking here unregistered for about 6 months, but making my first post today.

Anyone have any experience having to contact Shout Factory about an order issue? I just want to set a reasonable expectation for myself before I start getting a little more aggressive on my follow-ups. The only way to contact them is email. No chat, no phone number...just email. That's fine when it works.

A few weeks ago, I ordered the blu-ray box set for Friday the 13th and a few other things. When I received the box set after some shipping delays, I found that there are two copies of one of the movies and it is missing part 2 from the set. I reached out on Monday, Dec 16 and let them know about the issue and how they wanted to handle it, if I should send back the extra copy, etc. I haven't heard from them. I know it's the holiday season and orders are up, shipping depts are stretched, etc. But how long should I wait? I'm not used to waiting this many days, but it's my first time ordering from Shout directly.

Anyone had any customer service experience with Shout before?

I also asked them some questions about the replacement discs I received with the set. I'm assuming that I just toss the ones in the box set case and pop in the replacement that was sent (packaged separately with no instructions), but this is also my first time dealing with replacements. I used to buy all my physical media from big box retailers (Best Buy) but since they stopped selling physical media, I'm ordering from several places now.

You emailed them Monday, today is Thursday. I wouldn't expect a response that soon (unless you're one of the lucky ones). Last I heard they were only in the office 2 days a week, and with the sale and holidays... I would at least give them til after Christmas.

We're physically in our offices two days a week, but we handle inbox inquiries 5 days a week.

Around October, the inbox ramps up - a combo of our biggest sale (Shocktober), then holiday orders, and then holiday break, all in a row. We're currently contending with a lot of inquiries!

We kindly ask that you do not "get more aggressive" in any follow-up emails. We're human beings, just like you, doing our best.

Well, I didn't mean get nasty and rude. I just meant following up again until I got a response.

That's why I posted, though. Trying to get more insight from others that may be more familiar while trying to be cognizant of it being a busy time.

In any case, thanks for posting. I'll eagerly await a response via email.
