This thread is essentially a general Shout thread now. The actual Shout thread isn't stickied so most stuff coming from SF including major news like that will inevitably be posted here. In any event, some of the films n the Golden Princess library are horror and do fit with the Scream Factory branding.

It's nice to see everyone so frigging happy for once around here. After how shitty world news has been for the past few months, this is something I think we all needed.

It's amazing after hearing about how we wouldn't be able to see these titles for a variety of rights reasons. It's a huge untapped well of titles.

This is great news... and I certainly don't want to take away from that...

But I do apologize in advance for being a Debbie Downer though...

I just wish these films weren't with a label that:
  1. Utilizes Mexican pressing/assembly plants where damage/assembly QC is in the toilet...
  2. Puts simple, flimsy cardboard slips on their cases, yet charges an arm and a leg for them.

Sorry... this is great news for these films and their fans... but not great news that it's this label.

Everyone is gonna get these films... but without nice chip boxes and perfect bound books... yet pay out of pocket like they are.

And everyone is gonna be playing the "Press Your Damaged Disc Luck" wheel... over and over...

They will probably just keep them all USA/Canada exclusive! Can imagine they would boast about being the only boutique label having the exclusive rights to this library.

Absolutely great news, and another case where constantly pessimistic naysayers are once again proven wrong. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll need to clear some shelf space for these.

Will still be better releases given how The Killer never even got a full HD release lol, all of the Blu-Rays have been upscales.

And you were being grumpy with me when I said enough labels were and would carry on releasing HK titles, without the VSA line being took over by them and putting 90s US Martial Arts films in the dark

Very pleased for you

At this point I'm pretty much content. If we can get the Johnnie To crime films like Exiled, Election I and II, and Full Time Killers, I'll be set for life. I'm pretty much done complaining about a lack of HK films, probably for forever now.

It is a great feeling to reach a point of being content. Hopefully these discs turn out great. Will be picking up a few of them myself.

Yeah, the John Woo ones are all pretty much gold as well the Ringo Lam films like City on Fire and Full Contact. My HK collection has always felt incomplete without them. Here in the US we never even got Bullet in the Head before on DVD so it's pretty crazy that it's finally happening.

Amazing news. Funny how just last week we were thinking Shout was kind of limping along just re-releasing the same films on 4K that they did a couple years ago on Blu. Out of all of these I'm most excited for the Chinese Ghost Story films, which will most definitely be Scream Factory titles.
