Yes I haven’t seen Timecop since I watched it on AMC back in the mid 2000s so it has been a long time since I watched it so I’ll definitely be picking this up. I really hope for a lot more new to HD titles myself a lot more this year than last year as they now have a Sony deal I want to see Blankman, and Extreme Justice so bad.

Yeah, I was gonna use the word "fun," too, to describe Twice Dead. It's more fun than scary, imo. As someone who grew up watching Diff'rent Strokes it was cool to see Todd Bridges in a horror movie but I don't think he's in the movie too much. The movie stars Jill Whitlow from Night of the Creeps, so that's good too.

If you take out Hong Kong titles and the odd site exclusive, we'll be lucky if it's 10% at this rate.

I had a lot of fun with Dead Space. Even has a young Bryan Cranston.

I freaking LOVE Twice Dead. Even had a custom slip made for it. The film hits all the right notes and ticks all the boxes for the type of horror movie I can't get enough of: attractive and very relatable leads you don't want to see die (lol), great production values, decent budget, a great location, great effects, great demises for characters you DO hate, great resolution...the list goes on. I'd kill for a 4K grade. Something tells me they're getting this ready for an upgrade and this is an overstock dump in preparation for that.

Well Flesh Eaters is 60s, but a stone cold classic! Creatures, a Nazi, a beatnik, gore, stomach cramps and a movie star lush.

Deadspace was ok, it's a remake of Forbidden World and even uses footage from it and Battle Beyond the Stars.

Given the offerings of the past year from other boutique labels, I've all but given up on Shout/Scream Factory. The offerings for this year look especially bleak for my tastes, so my buying habits will probably follow that 10% number. If there's a really good sale, that is. I placed two orders with them in 2024 compared to seven in 2023 and way more than that in years prior.

Hoping for the best, but expecting less.

I do expect with the recent Golden Princess announcement and the current appreciation of HK cinema in general, that for the next few years Shout will focus on these films over others. While this is fantastic news for those who love those films (and assuming they do a great job with them), I can see it being disappointing for those who would much rather see other genres.

Golden Princes titles include many genres including action, fantasy, martial arts, comedy, etc. I can only see this disappointing those that don't like foreign or Hong Kong movies in general.

An excellent point, however MOST of the HK films will be of a certain HK 'style'- a typical HK film will combine many of those elements you describe in the same film - sometimes even in the same scene! I love that about HK films, but that is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. But yes, I think it is fair to say that people who don't like HK cinema or prefer to see US language films may be disappointed with Shout's output in the near future. Just my perspective.

I truly wish I understood the process of how they decide which titles to assign the Collector’s Edition designation. The Faculty had shit for extras and was a CE while The Hunt gets loaded with new extras and is not.

Make it make sense.
