What makes this even better is that this was released in Japan a few years ago already (with a pretty good transfer, though it could have had better/richer colors and deeper blacks). Forget about a ton of extras.. if they could figure out a way to have all of the english songs on there? That alone would be awesome.

Same thing with CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO.

Both of the titles listed are coming to UK blu ray soon this year.

You are probably right but it would be nice to have confirmation before I get rid of my DVD of the first film. I guess I'll just have to wait until they announce the extras for their new collection. Can't wait either way!

I hope that we get another Universal announcement of Friday. It'd be pretty great if they could resurrect those. I loved it... but I'd try to stretch it out a bit longer. Most of the titles were announced 2-3 at a time. I would only pair the announcements together if they share something: Same director/franchise/actor.

Can anyone tell me how most Empire Pictures titles ended up at MGM, while others, like Re-Animator, ended up in the hands of other companies?

I hope it's Tales from The Hood, Cat People (1982), The Car or The Boy Who cried Werewolf those are Universal titles that need the treatment.

House of Long Shadows needs Scream's magic badly since it's a movie that never had a DVD release before and needs a blu-ray/DVD combo with extras.

Anchor Bay's rights expired and you guys should be perfect for it since it's a Fox title and in a collector's edition with both new artwork and reversible original artwork plus some of the same extras on the blu/DVD combo with new extras like retrospect, actor commentary, interview with Alex Winter, TV spot and poster and still galleries.

I was just thinking about this one and Dellamorte Dellamore (Cemetery Man) today. Is it still with AB too Cliff?

I still hope for the "sickest PG-rated film" ever, AIP's BLOOD AND LACE (1969), which has never appeared on home video in the US.

I'd also love to see Scream! get the uncut export version of THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED (1970), which I believe is called FINISHING SCHOOL (widescreen, English audio, uncut). I know that's a tall request, although the FINISHING SCHOOL export version was once on Australian PAL VHS.

While I love those actors, I found HoLS very underwhelming in most part. It's no Raven or even Comedy of Terrors, so far as assembling horror cinema's greatest stars in a suitable vehicle goes.
