In a recent livestream, Don May Jr of Synapse films said that when they did their Prom Night blu, he asked Technicolor to send the negative back off to the rights owner after scanning it. When he located it again recently for the upcoming 4k, it turned out they still had it because they'd forgotten to send it back all those years ago.
He also said that Technicolor sent the materials for another movie back to the rights owner, but the rights owner currently doesn't have them, and no one has any idea what happened to them.
So seems that film storage facilities are very prone to human error.

I'm skeptical VS' FTB remains in print past this year. Released in 2020, 5 year deals are common, they clearly didn't pursue 4k, Shout's is coming out....I've never zeroed in on how much lead time VS gives before placing a title into their going OOP section but I'd be surprised if it didn't go there the next few months.

The Sleepaway Camps only being on 4k makes the Shout blus still the releases to have for the non-4k crowd.

1) Any interest by Shout in releasing Deathstalker 3 or 4 on blu ray? Part 4 was released on DVD by New Concorde, is that outside your Corman purview?
2)wish you'd done a Neca Angela figure with her having the guitar. Though I know Pamela will have nothing to do with the series so maybe she wouldn't have approved likeness rights.

Has anyone watched the 1080p discs on the Blaxploitation set yet? If the blu ray discs look great then it would be an easier pill to swallow since I'm going to be double buying 4 of the 6 movies n Volume 2.

Scream/Shout has been using original art for all of their 4K releases for years. Not sure why you think that would change now.

Does VS still have the rights for Dolemite, The Human Tornado and etcetera? They're long OOP or OOS and I do have the box set... just curious whether a 4K set of those movies would be possible or even justifiable. The BD's look pretty good, considering the source material.

Surprisingly, the Insider came back with an affirmative to the question. I assume they mean alternate art for the sleeve/wraps, not the slipcover, which should most definitely retain those covers. They are video store classics. I don't recall how often Shout commissions different art for the sleeves, though. Feels like it's a rare occurrence.

I assumed he meant that there will be additional slips that are exclusive to a bundle on their store like they did with Hush before

Sandpaper has the blu ray rights, that's why it's not a combo pack. I have their blu rays, but still picking up the 4k on both, and will turn it into a frankenstein combo pack
