I actually liked Vampires. It is one of the better vampire movies from the last 20 years in my opinion. Off the top of my head I can think of From Dusk till Dawn, 30 Days of Night, and Stake Land as being better but other than those, I am really struggling to come up with better vampire movies that weren't made in the 80's.

You forgot Twilight.

...Am I going to get banned from this thread for even mentioning it?

In The Mouth of Madness is great though.

I like Vampires, Village of the Damned and In the Mouth of Madness but thought Ghost of Mars was terrible

I have never seen Village of the Damned. I just watched the one from 1960 a couple of weeks ago for the first time though, I thought it was pretty cool.

Everyone knows The Howling III is the best "werewolf-kangaroo" movie ever made...

I didn't hate Prince of Darkness, but I thought it was eternally boring. Very slow.
I am interested in seeing it again, hopefully $25 will motivate me to enjoy it better....

I love Village of the Damned. Its very underrated. I enjoyed Carpenter's latter films a lot more than some fans. The other ones are amazing too. Children of the Damned is really creepy because it plays the original from a different point of view sorta.

I thought it went on for far too long for that little to happen. Also, it's the only one that I know of.

Default Scream YouTube channel picks

I went to the Scream YouTube channel to look at their Scream Picks and saw some movies I'd dream to see have a blu ray release ( I know Scream will probably not release any of these movies due to rights issues). They had Blood Beach, Curtains, Funeral Home ( I'm wanting a halfway decent release of any kind on DVD. I still have the VHS.), and Night School. All would be day 1 buys for me.

Its already on blu-ray through Timeless Media (*Now Owned by Shout Factory).
Part of the Howling Trilogy set.

Made it to BD before classics like Sunset Boulevard... smh lol

The market for cheap werewolf flicks must've been very strong in those days if they kept cranking these out one after another. Phew, what terrible films those Howling sequels were, lol.

[Show spoiler]:
  • Shout! Factory was not responsible for the production of this disc. The disc was produced in 2010, long before Shout! Factory's purchase of Timeless Media Group last year.
  • The transfers are derived from SD masters that were upconverted to 1080i. (Per Cliff, no HD masters exist nor are HD masters likely to be created.)
  • Howling III: The Marsupials is presented in a Pan and Scan 1.33:1 AR, cropped from it's 1.85:1 OAR. (The OOP Elite DVD from 2001 has a widescreen presentation.) The other two films are also 1.33:1 AR, but that is their OAR.
  • The filesize for the three films is reportedly less than 7 GB each.
Its horrible. I have it. I only recommend getting it if you are a collector, a completest, or love god-awful films.
I would fall into all three categories.

I was not aware that this was before Shout Factory acquired them though. That does make me feel better lol.

Since Shout owns the 3 crappy sequels and probally have a warehouse FULL of them why not package them as a freebie extra The Howling Collecters Edition? I know the quality is crappy but as a Freebie it would be cool to have

for anyone interested...

Lionsgate and WWE Films seem extremely adamant about releasing an upcoming reboot of the Leprechaun franchise starring Hornswaggle...

ugh. I shudder. Not because of the fact they are remaking a genuinely creepy movie, but because of the horrible casting and the fact that WWE movies are dreadful generally.

On the brightside this might motivate Lionsgate to release the films, or at least the original on Blu-Ray in the near future. Assuming everything goes as planned.

Yahoo Movies and Bloody Disgusting are among those who reported it.

I didn't know Shout Factory acquired TMG; I'd love to see a high definition upgrade of the TV show A Haunting. In my opinion A Haunting is essential for all horror fans; one the the creepiest ghost story documentary recreation series ever with grade A tension but easily overlooked in part because of it's made for TV Discovery Channel origins and poor DVD cover art.

Example trailer:http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SlEh_2YB7i0

Yeah. I just don't get those people that like 3 more than 2. 2 is wicked fun. I can listen to that song for hours.

Also, I think that Cliff should have gotten 2 from MGM to release in a double with 3. Then maybe put some extras together for a 5&6 double feature. For that one, 7 could be acquired for a Dvd exclusive feature.
