Stigmata's not a great movie but is a guilty pleasure of mine. I saw it twice in the theather. A high definition upgrade would be fun. Maybe after Lord of Illusions and some other films get acquired by Scream Factory

2) Shout is an indie label, they don't have the money to just throw around for cult titles that are most likely not going to sell in majority of the mainstream audience.

Everything is not black and white in this business, you shouldn't be so ignorant with your posts.

Is Scream making a new transfer for The Incredible Melting Man? Or did MGM provide a high def transfer?

There aren't too many made for tv horror movies that rival this movie in my opinion even though it is pretty kid friendly. The out of print Anchor Bay dvd is currently going for $200 on Amazon.
This is one of my most wanted titles for Scream to release. I haven''t seen it but have heard nothing but good things from the horror forum I frequent. I love movies set on Halloween with all the costumes and decorations, and I heard this one is chock full of them. Please Scream, release this film! This is one of the few TV movies (Like Dark Night of the Scarecrow and any Dan Curtis film) that would actually sell! It has been long OOP and selling in the $200 range for years now.

His stuff doesn't get bad for me, officially, until Escape from L.A., which is a shame because N.Y. is my favorite Carpenter movie and one of my favorite movies of all time. It also has some genuinely creepy scenes in it as well. In other words, I'd buy it if Scream released it. Universal's bare bones DVD, not worth $5. Honestly, who'd have thunk Carpenter would have been behind one of the best remakes ever and one of the most forgettable?
Yeah it's not too bad. I remember watching it for the first time a few years ago and rather enjoying it. This was after I watched the originals for the first time. Not sure why it gets so much hate as it isn't as bad as some of his later efforts.

That being said, I love Escape from L.A. as well and think it's just as good as New York. I look at it like I look at Evil Dead to Evil Dead 2. It's pretty much a remake of the first film with a lof of fun comedy elements. I remember hating it when I first saw it, especially the awful CGI but I think if people gave it a second chance and looked at it more as a remake then a sequel they might get more out of it.

Anyone else surprised to see these Collector's Editions not include DVDs? It looks like Scream is trying something different with these releases, a separate Blu-ray and DVD for each title. It's strange but I never used the DVDs anyway so no big loss to me. Hopefully it will knock a buck or two off the cost.

Village of the Damned, imo, is just as good (if not better) as Prince of Darkness.

The reason for that varies from film to film based on the deals Scream makes with the rights holders. Sometimes Scream is only given the right to make a Blu-ray release other times combo packs, etc.

Before though when it was only a blu-ray they didn't release the DVD seperately because they didn't have the rights to the DVD. In this case they are still releasing DVDs, just seperately. Looks like they are trying something new, again hopefully to cut the costs a little.

If one sequel from each of the big slasher franchises (except Halloween) could be done by Scream Factory, what would it be?

My picks:
Friday the 13th Part VI
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3
Child's Play 3
Texas Chainsaw Massacre III

The titles vary.
Some they have rights to only the blu-ray, others they have both formats.
The studio, in some cases, has control over if they make it a Combo or not, in regards to the ones that they allow DVD for.

As far as Collector's Editions go, they have been doing both DVD and BD releases or a Combo Pack. They aren't "trying something new", not all CE's were Combos, Halloween 3 was on both DVD and BD, whereas Terror Train was a Combo.

It just depends on which specific film, and they are not going to be going down in price as nothing has changed...

They are doing nothing differently, its simply based on which ones will be able to sell enough copies in stand alone DVD and BD or whether they need to do a Combo pack to drive up the limited audience, or to motivate people to double dip, ala From Beyond and Prison.

yes, maybe things can change later but stop bugging the man with the same requests multiple times....
I think we'll see Motel Hell as part of their new deal with MGM. Cliff saw the huge reaction from the Arrow announcement, and they really sought out other titles for their first wave, I think they fully intended on going back and picking it up.

Psycho 4 is different, as they have pretty much said "No, not anytime soon", but we may see it. I hope so, but the convo on it has passed, people need to let it go... I hope Shout reconsiders but I doubt it is anytime soon, if at all.

Cliff has indicated that the following studios that, at the time of his post, either will not license or are unlikely to license films to Shout! Factory:
Echo Bridge (Miramax)
Full Moon
Lionsgate
Millennium Entertainment
Paramount
Sony
Troma
Warner Brothers

Titles from these studios are presumed to be "No's" until or unless Cliff says otherwise.

Note: This is a fan list and is based on posts that Cliff MacMillan (cmac) has posted on Blu-Ray.com since the start of 2013. There are titles that have been on this list in the past that have since been removed, so, “No” does not necessarily mean “never.” The intent of this list is not to discourage requests. It is intended merely as a quick reference guide for titles that Cliff may have addressed recently.
Than you!! I had only made minimal changes, like taking away a few titles, adding a couple. I din't go through and update it that much.

Gracias!

SINGLE BD / SINGLE DVD COLLECTOR'S EDITIONS:

My bad. Didn't even notice some like Halloween 3 didn't come with a DVD. I thought all collectors editions did.
