Paramount released the VHS, so I assume they have it, which may mean that Warner now has access to it. Although that doesnt mean they will release it.

and I would love this art for a reversible sleeve on The Horror Show cover:
[Show spoiler]of course without the ratings and logos. lol

I wish that Warner would release a 4 Film Favorites of a bunch of horror sequels that don't have a DVD release. Just to get them out there. It's the only way we'll ever see House IV on DVD.

Warner just revived the 4 Film Favorites line on Blu-Ray, with TMNT, Batman, Lethal Weapon, etc. I would love them to extend this line with some never releases that aren't old 4 packs.

I would love to have Cat's Eye on bd with the deleted prolog of a mom using a machine gun to kill the cat.

Yeah Cat's Eye was 1980's MGM & Turner Entertainment. Then later by Time-Warner and has Warner Bros distribute the movie on home video.

Correct. Lionsgate has the Canadian distribution rights to the original "Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre" cut. It still retains the "Next Generation" moniker, but both the Canadian VHS and DVD releases include the Jenny/stepfather subplot, different editing, and different music & sound effects. Aside from the longer runtime (93 minutes), you'd never know it's a different cut because it isn't advertised as one and the cover art is identical to the US releases.

So really, its a different movie that Lionsgate has. Gotcha.
I might track down a Canadian DVD just to own that cut now. Stick it in my US case and maybe transfer it over to the BD case if the damn thing ever comes out. Make my own little Combo Pack with both cuts.

My VHS is from Paramount, so probably them.

I think it has been mentioned several times that Scream has no intention of pursuing made-for-TV titles, so it's probably not going to happen.

It would be fun to see those USA network made-for-TV movies hit blu-ray though, like Strays, Wheels Of Terror, and Nightmare On The 13th Floor. Would also love to see the Cabin By The Lake films back in print.

I know they've previously released two cuts on DVD

Thriller: A Cruel Picture

I have the first DVD, which is the full uncut version. The second one is the edited version.

The second edited release Synapse release is still more complete than the much shorter U.S. edit by A.I.P. which ran 82 minutes and was rated R. The edited Synapse release just deleted the hardcore moments, and they also edited the eye slicing sequence despite not having to, they just decided to entice people to seek out the uncut hardcore version I guess. But those two bits are the only difference between the two Synapse releases in terms of the film itself.

The U.S. version of the film titled "They Call Her One Eye" still has yet to have any home video release in any form, and it's never aired on t.v. that I'm aware of either. M.G.M. should own this version since they own the A.I.P. library as best as I know. So I'd love for that version to be released.

They've released 3 different Region 1 DVDs.

Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III is the only of the original franchise that Warner has, via New Line Cinema.

So, providing a Sony deal, which was the basis of my post, it would be possible, hypothetically.
The chances of us doing a Sony deal is slim. They will not let us do extras.

Uh oh... You just jogged my memory. I've seen all three of those USA movies -- Strays, Wheels of Terror and Nightmare on the 13th Floor.

Nightmare on the 13th floor was my favorite of the three. Damn cats in Strays.

If you ever do, I would love John Carpenter's Vampires. Extras or not.

Even the edited version is unrated so I'm not sure what they tried to achieve.

Some folks don't like the hardcore inserts so the Vengeance edition is good for them.

It will never happen due to different companies owning the films, but I would love a double feature of Jack's Back and The New Kids. A couple of Spader thriller/horror titles? Count me in!

Crap...never realized this. My DVD says 94 minutes on the box, but when I put it in it's the 86 minute version. So Lionsgate only released this in Canada? So if you find a Lionsgate one it would be the longer cut? The cover would be the lips and the lipstick chainsaw? Released in 2002?

Edit: Just bought what I hope is the Canadian version on ebay...had a different UPC, and the cover was slightly different (DVD logo was on the bottom left, not the bottom right; no LA Times critic quote). *crosses fingers*

Second EDIT: Seller conformed it was a Canadian import, so hopefully there aren't multiple Lionsgate Canadian imports that aren't all the same (and I'm not even a big fan of the movie! Sigh...the things we put ourselves through...)

3 Sony/Columbia-controlled titles I'd like to see on Blu: Piranha II, Hellhole and Tx. Chainsaw 4: Next Generation. I actually saw Texas 4 in a theater in Times Square just before they tore the last of the old moviehouses down. I walked out of there feeling like I had seen the weirdest movie of all up to that point. I saw the film again on video and liked it a bit more but still felt like WTF. I think if Shout were to ever acquire that film and release it uncut I wouldn't mind if it didn't have extras. Same goes for Piranha II - the DVDs are just so abominable. Give me these completely uncut and I'll be happy. I mean, what is there to make extras from? No one from either of these films will want to have anything to do with them. Cameron has practically disowned his involvement in Piranha II. And interviews with Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey for Texas 4? When pigs fly

Also, call it a hunch but it appears that Shout has made a deal with ITC/ITV. Lots of potentially good titles in there (some of which were distributed by Lionsgate at some point, such as VOYAGE OF THE DAMNED). Maybe now we'll see the 2 Stepfather sequels, Killer Fish and others.

They should - all Amazon accounts should be linked. However, you might want to check the price at CD Japan as well, they've had it for very cheap in the past. Here's the discussion of the various versions.
