So, what's next? The Video Dead, Prison (1988), Cellar Dweller, The Town that Dreaded Sundown??!?
Well, I wouldn't jump to conclusions in thinking they won't be apart of Scream Factory in the future. 7 of the 9 first wave titles were all very major landmark titles for horror fans with "The Island" and "Death Valley" certainly falling into a less mainstream category but no more less desirable than the others. I think with "TerrorVision" and "The Nest", Scream Factory is spreading its wings to showcase films for the more dedicated horror fans by releasing things that have never been officially released or not properly released. I'm sure the announcements every Friday are going to be a nice mix of landmark titles and titles that serious horror fans have craved for years.

Glad to see TerrorVision is coming. Will definitely be buying that.

This gives me hope for movies like Blood Games and The Immortalizer, both of which are available on Netflix but have never made it to disc (like TerrorVision).

Also makes me hope they could release blu-rays of some of the MGM MOD titles, like Modern Girls, Spellbinder, and New Year's Evil.

And MGM also owns Teen Witch, the movie I'd most love to own on blu-ray!

Hey, I wouldn't complain if any of the titles I mentioned were announced. I'm just sayin', I don't think those ones are coming. Shout/Scream probably wanted to lead off these new Friday announcements with something big, and TerrorVision is no doubt a highly requested title. But if that's one of their biggies, then they definitely didn't get The Howling or The Fog.

Of course, I could be completely wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

Not gonna lie... I'd absolutely buy "Teen Witch" on Blu-ray if Scream Factory picked it up

Wow, that truly was the worst kept secret ever.... I'm glad it turned out to be MGM, as it has a lot great horror titles. As for the titles announced I'm really looking forward to Terrorvision, it's a pretty fun movie and it's never been released before. I've never heard of the other movie, but I might give it a chance. So, thank you Cliff and Scream Factory! Loved the Halloween II and III releases and I know the following releases will be as great. Now bring on The Burning and The Town That Dreaded Sundown!!!

I would love to see a Special Edition Widescreen BluRay of the 1983 Horror Anthology "NIGHTMARES" starring Emilio Estevez and Lance Henriksen. It had a barebones release on DVD in full frame and the out of print DVD's have become very collectible and expensive.

MGM holds the rights to the film for a few more year before it goes back to Corman.

I wonder if MGM just gave Shout access to the Empire Pictures catalog, and that's it. That would narrow things down considerably. We'll have a better idea next week, especially if the announcement is something like Ghoulies, Troll, or Dolls.

Edit: Guess not.

Ah right thanks for clarifying that Cliff. I was about to buy the old DVD before today's announcement as well.

Straight from Scream Factory's Facebook page in the comments under today's announcement:

"Will this be a blu-ray release from MGM's HD master? If it's a blu ray, I'd be happy to do a commentary".

This is coming straight from Ted Nicolaou, director of "TerrorVision"! I'm sure Cliff already has a commentary in mind for this release but seeing in print the director is willing to record one, I suppose it's just a matter of setting things in motion.

I don't necessarily think you're correct. Oh, and I want "The Burning" and "The Fog". Those are my big MGM films.

Yeah, we'll see. I'm thinking that most of the titles they got from MGM are going to be (a) unreleased titles or (b) lesser known titles like The Nest. It remains to be seen if they got (c) classic titles like The Fog or (d) minor classics like Pumpkinhead.

The 1991 flick with Kristy Swanson? Yes. I'd like to see that one, too.
