The 'TV Terrors' announcement has renewed my hope that Spielberg's Something Evil may yet get a home video release. (Though, I'd want it on Blu, naturally).

I've honestly never seen any of the films announced but Nightbreed seems quite interesting. I might have to pick it up at some point. Cat People makes me wish that Warner would hurry up and release a Val Lewton box set.

I also posted the information to my wall and every one of those posts racked up 50-100 comments within an hour.

You guys are really on some other track. I would consider The Serpent and the Rainbow on par with the profile of the titles announced. The others you mentioned, significantly below. Fright Night 2 may not be on Blu and the DVD is OOP, but you're nuts if you think that's a bigger title than Darkman or Cat People by any metric. You may want it more, but objectively, these are the huge, major "gets."
Yeah, but Darkman already has a blu release. As does Assault on Precinct 13. Can't see too many folks doing cartwheels for those announcements. Cat People is a decent announcement, and maybe Nightbreed (if they can include the theatrical version). But Saturn 3? It's not even horror, let alone good.

Also, I'm positive that Cliff mentioned Eve of Destruction before, in some interview (maybe Frightener22's?). So not only was it previously announced, but it's a terrible movie to boot.

And so what if a few chach's were excited on twitter? Most of these titles don't even fall under horror, so it's easy to see why horror fans would be disappointed.

Not complaining, as I thought the announcements were satisfying, but why does Darkman fit into the line when Crimewave does not? I didn't like Crimewave but it certainly had more horror elements than Darkman did. Just an observation.

Pretty happy with these announcements myself.

Hopefully EVE OF DESTRUCTION will see some extras as I've always enjoyed that over the years, despite never owning it.

Only one I'm not thrilled about is PRECINCT 13, since the Image Blu is great. Might pass on that, which I imagine will happen with at least a little more frequency considering the sheer amount of titles SF has planned for 2014.

Like most announcements some titles will appeal to fans, while others will not be all that impressed - this batch really was a mixed bag of yay and meh
Well since Comic Con leans toward SciFi they chose to announce movies that lean toward the SciFi genre (save for Cat People)

I agree totally. Saturn 3 is one of my all time favorite cheesy movies and is all horror. I think all of these titles are awesome. To quote Abe Lincoln "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time."

Do you people think Scream Factory announced their most anticipated/promising titles at the convention they held off on news so long for or do we expect potentially bigger material coming? I agree the announcements are not bad, just over hyped, but do wonder what else the future holds.

Yeah, can't wait for it, finally some love for Darkman. What would really make this cool is if it was a 2 disc set with Parts 2&3 on the second disc.

Can't you just be happy with the writer/director/extended cut with a bunch of extras. The theatrical cut will most likely come from Warner Archives, bare bones in two years.

I just don't want Scream Factory to become less about horror.
We had hoped to announce more but a few deals didn't close in time.
There is more horror coming.

it depends.. just because a movie is a directors cut does not mean it will be better..a movie that long runs a risk of bad pacing and becoming a bore..i love Nightbreed ,so I'm hoping it will be awesome. Very few people know how the cabal cut is. it could be amazing ,it could make the movie lame. Who knows i don't. i hope it's awesome, i would just like to also be able to watch the movie i have been watching for the last 23 years as well..that is all

It doesn't seem all that relevant that Darkman and Assault on Precinct 13 are already on Blu-Ray when Darkman has been in need of the special edition treatment forever and Assault on Precinct 13 is a flawed disc that is not exactly packed with extras.

And the Twitter reactions I was talking about mostly came from writers / readers of ShockTillYouDrop, Bloody-Disgusting, DreadCentral, and the other horror sites. Specifically horror fans.

Get the Cabal Cut for the idea of an extended version of a film you love and the features. If its worse than you had hoped, hold on to your DVD and wait for a Warner blu.

I would prefer to have both cuts available especially right now 'cuz I have no way of knowing if I'll even remotely like the Cabal cut.
