I hope that they announce another 2014 title soon... The two we know are getting lonely. They want some of their 46 friends to come out of hiding.

Cat People (January 2014)
Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut (Summer 2014)

Has anyone mentioned Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers or Madman? I saw a no on the front page to Savage Streets, which is a bummer.

I believe that Madman is being released by another company. Code Red perhaps?

IMO, stylistically it's almost like a lost Hammer studios gothic horror film. It's basically a series of four short stories encompassed in a young girls dreams as narrated by her grandmother played by Angela Lansbury(!). The theme of "Little Red Riding Hood" twisted into subliminal sexual metaphors permeates much of the dream sequences and the movie is worth repeated viewings. The (at the time) elaborate werewolf transformation scenes much like that found in The Howling and American Werewolf In London are almost an afterthought in the context of this movie. Directed by a young Neil Jordan who later went on to do The Crying Game and Interview With A Vampire, the movie has a fairy tale surrealistic production design that at times almost resembles a stage bound play. The music score is also quite unique and adds greatly to the tone of the film.

COW is not for everyone, some may find it boring with an odd payoff for an ending but if you're into the more adventurous cult type films that move at their own pace and peculiar rhythm, I highly recommend this one.

I have the region free UK Blu-ray import of Company Of Wolves and am of the opinion that transfer is good and clearly a big upgrade over the dvd release(s) but there's a lot of room for improvement with a better source. Aside from a commentary track by Jordan, you only get a lossy stereo DD soundtrack.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I still think that a John Carpenter Collection should be put out, especially if it is just like the Psycho bundle. That way, you can get them all conveniently without others feeling like they missed out.

I'm also hoping for a future Joe Dante Collection (either from Shout or WB). Shout! could release a set with The Howling, Piranha, maybe The 'burbs, Matinee, and/or Amazon Women on the Moon.
WB's could include Gremlins 1&2, Twilight Zone, Innerspace, Explorers, Small Soldiers, Looney Toons: Back in Action, etc.

With 46 Titles to announce for 2014 I gotta think that Stigmata is a given, and I would be shocked if Tales From the Crypt Demon Knight/Bordello of Blood weren't released as a Double feature... even if it has been shot down before. With that said, bring on unrealistic expectations! I expect...

-The Unholy
-Waxwork/Waxwork 2
-The Wishmaster 1 & 2
-Ghoulies 1 & 2
-A Poltergeist Trilogy
-976-Evil 1 & 2
-The Sentinel
-The Wickerman
-Pet Sematary 2
-It
-The Langoliers
-The Stand
-Return of the Living Dead 2 & 3
-Silence of the Lambs
-Hannibal
-Last House on the Left (original)

...and last but not least... A Serbian Film Complete and Uncut for the first time on Blu ray.

There ya go, 22 titles right there! (And yeah I know that most all of these titles are a no go,but a person can dream right?)

I do like the strange cult films. That's why I gravitate towards Shock Treatment. Neil Jordan is a plus, as I loved most of Interview with the Vampire.

I have a feeling that the new Darkman art is coming tomorrow. Either that or the Saturn 3 original art.

I'm sure some of Shout!'s bigger licensors would be really happy about them taking that on.

Arrow's OBSESSION and SPIRITS OF THE DEAD are region-free. Most of their later releases are region-locked.

Is there any chance of someone putting together a list of all of their region free Blu-Rays?

It's still region free. The only title of theirs that I know was initially region free but later region locked was The Funhouse.

I'm hoping for the Dante titles (Matinee, The 'Burbs) because neither seem like something Universal cares about and he would no doubt be happy to participate in extra features. I'd be happy to see Amazon Women on the Moon hit Blu via Shout! as well...if they do, hopefully they can dig up the featurette that was supposed to be on Universal's DVD, but mysteriously went missing.

Another fun one would be Vampire's Kiss. Probably been shot down, but I'd buy it on Blu.

I love this film. It's high-brow horror at it's best. The hidden meanings in the film make it re-watchable and interesting. It's the kind of film that can be discussed at length after viewing. I saw it in the theater when it first was released and it just lost a lot of people - they just didn't get it. In England where it was filmed it was one of the longest playing films to be screened at the same theater. The music is another point of interest too - the score at time reflects a kind of sadness at times and adds to the deeper meanings within. I remember when "RED Riding Hook" came out my first reaction was, "been there done that". Now there's another new film dealing with werewolves showing them "coming out" of the person during the transformation and once again COW was ahead of its time.

+1

I still remember watching this for the first time on TV around 1989-1990. I had no idea what I had just seen, but I totally loved the atmosphere and the soundtrack.

AUDREY ROSE is one of the better supernatural thrillers of the 70's - would love to see a remastered Blu-ray with some extras. I have an odd feeling this one might be released by Arrow.

Well it's a definitive possibility from SF since it's with MGM.

There are a few (amazing) films that have largely been negected from a lot of "lists".
So here's mine, of just Spooky films!

- The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane: [MGM]
Featuring a young Jodie Foster as A little girl who killed her mother and stores her parents dead taxidermied bodies in the basement of her house, then people start snooping around, dying, and she begin having 'sex' (if you can call it that?) with an older crippled boy. Btw she's 13! Its a crazy one.

- Ghost Story: [UNI.]
Four successful elderly gentlemen, members of the Chowder Society, share a gruesome, 50-year old secret that's come back to haunt them...

- Audrey Rose: [MGM]
A stranger attempts to convince a happily married couple that their daughter is actually his daughter reincarnated. And a lot of spooky things happen from there.

- Hush Hush, Sweet Charlotte: [FOX]
An aging, reclusive southern belle, plagued by a horrifying family secret, descends into madness after the arrival of a lost relative.

- Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?: [MGM]
She's Taking A STAB At Motherhood!
A demented widow lures unsuspecting children into her mansion in a bizarre "Hansel and Gretel" twist.

- The Dunwich Horror: [MGM]
Wilbur Whateley pops over to the Arkham Miskatonic University to borrow the legendary Necronomicon and Sandra Dee. But little does anyone know, Whateley isn't quite human...

- Burnt Offerings: [MGM]
Haunted house chiller from Dan Curtis has Oliver Reed and Karen Black as summer caretakers moving into gothic house with their young son... "Up the ancient stairs, behind the locked door, something lives, something evil, from which no one has ever returned..."

- I Saw What You Did!: [UNI.]
Teenagers, Libby and Kit, innocently spend an evening doing random prank calls. These calls lead to murderous consequences. Don't laugh little girls, better run for your life. The man you were talking to, has just murdered his wife!

And so many more classics.
... Or maybe I just have 'refined' tastes.
